Judy is a corporate communications professional and freelance writer/editor. With more than a dozen years experience as a writer, columnist and editor at weekly, daily and trade newspapers/online pubs, she has written for lay press, medical professionals and beauty fanatics alike – in addition to crafting and executing internal and external corporate communication strategies. She has won several awards for her writing and editing, has a Master’s degree in Writing and BA in journalism/professional writing.
Judy lives in South Jersey – not far from New York City or Philadelphia – with her husband, daughter and soon-to-be newborn daughter! When she’s not working or writing, she spends her spare time binging Netflix, spending time with her family and friends. Oh, and shopping and experimenting with makeup and nail polish!!
Judy started BeautyJudy in February 2009 as a way to share makeup application tips and reviews with family and friends who were always asking advice. In summer of 2009, BeautyJudy blossomed into primarily a nail polish blog. It since evolved again into a mix of makeup and nail posts.
At the start of 2018, BeautyJudy became more focused, yet broader in editorial strategy with the tagline, “The intersection of career, motherhood and makeup addiction.” This captures the evolution of Judy as editor/owner – having gotten married, been promoted at work and starting a family. As Judy’s life priorities change, it seems only natural to evolve the conversation on BeautyJudy, as well!
