I had a bit of a light month on empties in May, with a lot geared towards the amount of travel I’ve been doing, and the excessive use of cleansing wipes I’ve been doing. I really have to keep baby wipes handy by my makeup station but more on that below…
Neutrogena Face Cleansing Wipes
Three travel packs and two night-calming regular size this month. Yikes! I use them for all kinds of things now, but it’s not economical. Hopefully next month I will not use as many. The travel packs are $1.99 and the full size are part of a two for $12.99, so $6.50.
Would I repurchase? Yep! I’m never without them!
Sephora Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes
I randomly picked up a couple of these cleansing wipes from Sephora in the last year and as I start to travel more, and use a ton of cleansing wipes (I use them to clean up my little makeup station at home, too, as well as to clean-up morning as I do my makeup and at night as part of my cleansing routine) so add this travel pack to my list of empties. This was fine, nothing remarkable. But the Neutrogena ones are proven, cheaper and easily accessible. These were $3.
Would I repurchase? No
Qtica Smart Spa Sugar Scrub – Eucamint
A couple months ago, I got to try Qtica Smart Spa Sugar Scrubs thanks to the Zoya PR team and I am a huge fan. I gave one to my bestie, and I gave three followers/readers two each! I used up my first one – this scrub is gentle enough for everyday and has such a nice, light scent. I am a big fan of eucalyptus and mint scents in the shower as they are energizing, stress-relieving and wake me up! This 7 oz. tube costs $18 but since it was a PR sample, I won’t count it towards my total. You can read more about the scrubs here!
Would I repurchase? Yes!
Dove Dry Spray Cool Essentials scent
When I discovered they make a travel size to my beloved deodorant, I was sold. I use the men’s care version as well as this one, and both are great. I try to bring as many solids as possible when I travel to make my liquids baggie light, but this is a must-have for me. This cost me $1.99.
Would I repurchase? Yes
Secret Invisible Spray in Cool Waterlily
Secret does not keep me dry these days. So while I liked the scent, I wasn’t into the performance. I paid $4.99.
Would I repurchase? No.
NYX Cosmetics Total Control Drop Foundation in Light Ivory
I’ve finished up this foundation before (see here), but my skin has evolved, and while this performs OK, I have a lot of other foundations that are performing even better. This foundation is $14.
Would I repurchase? Not right now, but I do have a back-up bottle.
Oh So Wet! Clear Ice Quick Dry Top Coat
I picked up this top coat last summer at Sally Beauty. I used the bottle up because I paid for it – it didn’t lengthen the life of my mani in the same way that using KBShimmer Clearly on Top does. It did dry quick. And I found it added a subtle blue hue to everything I put it over. I wish I’d realized that sooner, but I only realized it when I finished it and the sediment at the bottle revealed it to be so blue! This cost me $4.29.
Would I repurchase? No.
Tory Burch Relentlessly in Love; Versace Bright Crystal; perfume samples
I’m using up more of my perfume samples as I travel, and these are the latest! I figured I’d group them all together. The one I love the best is Versace Bright Crystal, I owned a bottle several years ago. I would repurchase it if I didn’t have six scents going right now! I also enjoyed Beach Walk – it was extremely summery/tropical. But I know from loving Lazy Sunday Morning that this perfume is costly, and I would not spend $126 on this scent as it’s not everyday for me.
Would I buy it? I would buy the Versace again in the future.
Jouer Essential High Coverage Crème Foundation in Alabaster
I had JUST enough of this foundation, with a teeny bit leftover, to try it out. I ordered a favorite lippie, their liquid lip in Papaya, and I had the option of getting a board of paper with foil-packet samples attached to it in the fairer/lighter family. It was nice, very fluid. I likely will match with a couple of the other colors.
Would I buy it? Not at this moment in time but perhaps in the future.
So there you have it. My empties for the month. A handful of samples, including a PR sample, so I don’t count the cost of those. So I used up $47.23 of product to bring my 2019 total to $552.35.
How are you doing on using up your makeup and skincare stash, if you’re keeping track?
