‘The Kid’ is KBShimmer‘s tri-thermal polish based on Prince’s Purple Rain Album cover – a beautiful polish for this month’s Polish Pickup theme, Album Covers!
The name, The Kid, is an ode to the character Prince played in the movie “Purple Rain.”
KBShimmer says, “When cold, a deepened eggplant shade is accented by micro flakes that shift from purple to copper and gold. When this shade starts to warm, a grape-leaning purple transitions into a violet-leaning fuchsia.”
Check out The Kid!

And here’s The Kid in its cold state!
I don’t know if my nails are too nubby, but I can’t get the tri-thermal effect in lines on my nail. The polish changes in an abstract pattern which is seriously cool! This polish also changes VERY fast, as soon as I took it out of the cold water, it started warming up against the heat of my fingers.
Due to the special magic in thermals, they generally have a shelf life of about 6 months. This beauty is best in two coats; I used the glossy Clearly on Top Quick Dry Top Coat from KBShimmer as my topper.
When open, shop the PPU website here. Remember – you can only purchase this over the first weekend of March! (March 1-4). If you don’t know – PPU and IPU are a monthly sale of indie nail polish and beauty items that makers create with a community-generated theme. So the polishes and beauty items for sale are limited edition and special!
The Kid will retail for $10.00 each with no cap. What do you think of this tri-thermal?! Is it on your PPU/IPU wish list this weekend?!
