I’m forever skeptical that a matte lipstick can make my lips feel anything but dry – something I’m tolerant of, because I love the look, but it’s such a pleasant surprise to find one that doesn’t make me want to grab my lip balm.

When I wore one of Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics‘ three new Intimatte Mineral Lipsticks shades last weekend at The Makeup Show NYC, I didn’t even think about what was on my lips until Michael at the Youngblood booth asked me how the lipstick felt. I moved my lips and touched them, and told him it felt as if I had nothing on my lips, and that the color had been going strong for more than five hours.

The Intimatte line has been out since last spring, but this is the first one I’ve tried.

Sinful is a gorgeous red, described by the brand as a raspberry red. It’s richly pigments – here’s a quick swipe on my hand:

Here’s how it looked on me:

What impressed me most about this lipstick is that I applied it at 5 a.m., and this picture is from around 10-something a.m. It survived coffee, talking and eating. I didn’t touch this up until later in the afternoon, and only in the middle of my lower and upper lips. It has amazing wear!

This hugged my lips in a way that made me feel like I had healthy, moisturized lips. I have a bad habit of biting at my lips when they feel dry, or running my tongue over them, and I did not feel the need to do this.

While it didn’t feather, I purchased a companion lip liner in Truly Red from Youngblood to try this again with a liner under it, which is recommended for even longer wear. I also picked up Flirt.

This lipstick retails for $19 and can be found here on the Youngblood site.

Have you tried Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics yet? What do you think of Sinful?
