I can’t believe I have completed 12 days of the 31 Day Challenge for 2014 – techically, at the writing of this post, I’ve completed more than that! But this post focuses on the nail art for days 7-12!
Day 7 prompt: Black and white nails! I decided to channel my inner Deborah Lippmann for her NYFW SS15 Kate Spade nail art and do this graphic mani. I used Milani Cosmetics Spotlight White, and Nubar Two-Way Nail Art Pen in Black to achieve the look.
I used more NYFW as inspiration for day 8, which was a prompt for metallic nails. I used Zoya Autumn to recreate the naked teardrop mani that Zoya’s team created for the Zimmermann NYFW SS15. I think this looks better on shorter – and less stained! – nails.
For day 9, the prompt was rainbow nails! I decided I wanted to rainbow on my nails! I used, from left to right:
- Philly Loves Lacquer On the Way to Cape May
- OPI Where Did Suzi’s Man-go?
- CND Bicycle Yellow (Vinylux)
- Wet n’ Wild MegaLast in Contact High
- Sally Hansen Extreme Wear Pacific Blue (old formula)
- OPI A Grape Affair
- Milani Cosmetics Imperial Purple
- back to the PLL polish I started with!
This was a fun and colorful mani!
Day 10, I pretty much phoned it in. I was sick all week and I just didn’t feel like working the gradient, which was the prompt. I used Habit Bell Epoque on the bottom half of the nail and Alessandro Deep Blue Ocean at the tip. I put Masglo Galactic Top Coat in the middle, my lame attempt to gradiate.
Day 11 is my favorite of the entire week! Polka Dots prompt! I used all China Glaze The Giver polishes – History of the World, Capacity to See Beyond and Friends Forever, Right? I’d wanted to use all three of these in a mani ever since I got them and I was happy with this!
Day 12 I recycled my Day 11 dots and added some stripes, for the prompt!
Although I phoned it in a couple days, I was still pretty happy with a few of the six days here!
Which day is your favorite?! If you’re following along and doing this too, which day did you like from days 7-12?!
