There’s that summer-to-fall time – when it’s hot during the day and cool at night (if you’re in a seasonal weather region, anyway!). That mid-September day when you might be getting sick of neons but you aren’t ready for a blackened red shimmer yet.
Introducing Zoya‘s answer to that transitional time: Naturel Deux.
Naturel Deux is a six-piece collection of neutrals that’s meant to provide a bridge between the seasons. It’s also a follow-up to the brand’s Naturel collection from last winter. Check out swatches – first photo is the polish with flash (I was missing my beloved sunshine this weekend for swatching) and the second photo is in natural light outdoors.
Spencer is described as a camel creme. Shown here in two coats, this one is a few shades darker than what would be mannequin hands, or my skin tone neutral, but it was so close that in the lighting of my living room as I swatched, I had a tough time making sure I didn’t paint my cuticles!
Chanelle is described as a toasted almond creme. Shown here in two coats, this has a really nice milk chocolate quality to it.
Emilia is described as a dark chocolate creme. This one seemed to have some green undertones to me, which I liked. It seems like a unique color – in my collection, at least! I’ve shown it here in two coats.
Madeline is described as a muted rose creme. Shown in two coats, it’s a color that makes me think of tea cups, mini roses on wall paper and shabby chic. Very feminine!
Aubrey is described as a medium mauve creme. This one is shown in two coats. For me, this one really spoke to that transitional concept – it feels bright enough for summer but with a vampy touch that makes it a nice fall choice too.
Marney is described as a deep warm plum creme. Shown here in two coats. This one is a cozy plum-based neutral.
I didn’t have any issues in application of any of these nail polishes. Zoya cremes are generally very consistent for me, and two-coaters.
My favorites are Emilia, Spencer and Aubrey. I don’t generally go ga-ga for neutrals, but I appreciate them. Especially since I work in a corporate environment where sometimes a neutral nail is a necessary accessory!
I want to experiment with nail art in the coming weeks, and post something on what you can do with these. So stay tuned for that in about two or three weeks!
The Naturel Deux collection is available on the Zoya site here for $9 a piece or $54 for all of them.
What do you think of Naturel Deux? Are there any must-haves here for you?!
