Have you ever shopped at Overall Beauty? The online store is stocked with indie nail polish and nail art and a ton of other goodies – but Kim, the owner, also makes her own branded Overall Beauty mineral makeup!
I first tried Overall Beauty Mineral Eye Shadows maybe two or three years ago? I’d gotten a sample with an order. I love mineral eye shadows because they can be so pigmented, and the fall out cleanup after application is worth the color payoff most of the time (tip: I apply my eye makeup first so I don’t have to retouch foundation or concealer).
I was very happy to revisit this eye shadow brand again, based on my first brief and positive experience.
I received six eye shadow samples to review. Here’s swatches over the back of my hand, over Urban Decay Primer Potion. First is flash, second and third are indoor lighting in different areas of my house:
Left to right: Missing Time, Paradise, Not Your GF, Night Wisp, Angel Kisses and Moon Rocks. I think the second photo best captures the shadows and their hues!
- Missing Time is a beautiful dark navy shimmer – it can be used as an eyeliner, too
- Paradise is a matte taupe – this one can be used as an eyebrow filler, too
- Not Your GF is a blue-pink shimmer
- Night Wisp is a pink, bone shimmer with TONS of iridescent blue shift
- Angel Kisses is a new shade – it’s a cream with shimmer. Opaque enough for the lid, great for the brow to highlight
- Moon Rocks is a beautiful white/gold shifting shadow with a light grey base. Another that’s great for highlighting but works on the lid, too.
I like the small jar packaging.
Here’s a look I did using Not Your GF, Night Wisp and Paradise:
I also used Lime Crime Liquid Eyeliner in Blue Milk for this look! In this, I used Not Your GF all over the lid, Paradise in the crease and outer lid corner, and Night Wisp on brow bone and a little blended into the crease.
Here’s another look using Moon Rocks, Angel Kisses and Missing Time:
I left the first one a little blurred so you could see the pretty shimmer! In this eye look, I blended Angel Kisses over the brow bone, and over Missing Time a little to blend. Missing TIme is in the crease and in the outer corner of the lid. Moon Rocks is all over the lid.
All six of these shadows blended nicely, applied well and had great pigmentation. I used them all over Urban Decay Primer Potion, so I can’t speak to how they wear without it, but they wore great from the work day until bedtime.
I would most definitely purchase more Overall Beauty Mineral Eye Shadows! There are a couple others on my list to try.
I think of the six that I tried out here, Night Wisp is my absolute fave, followed by Moon Rocks! The others are beautiful but I am so partial to duochrome/shifting pigments!
You can purchase these eye shadows on the Overall Beauty site here; sizes include sample for $1.50, or a 5 gram jar for $6.50.
What do you think of Overall Beauty Mineral Eye Shadows? Have you ever tried them? Which one do you like best?!
