My matron of honor has told me to save the date: My bachelorette party plans are officially underway!
It’s going to be a weekend affair this August, a couple days on the beach and a couple nights dancing in Atlantic City, and I’m super excited!
When I think of lying (with sunscreen on!) on the beach and then later partying, some of my nail color picks would be anything neon, or something bronzey and sparkly that would take me from the sand to the dance floor.
Enter butter LONDON‘s Summer Holiday Collection, a lineup of six lacquers that offer a pop of color against sun-kissed skin. Because, let’s face it. I’m pale. If not by sun, I’ll make sure I have a tan from a bottle!
Inspired by cultural elements and gilded textures, the Summer Holiday Collection includes metallics in platinum, gold and rust, as well as crushed glitter in shades of copper and umber. I received three of the six lacquers to swatch and review:
(L to R: Marbs, Bit Faker, Sun Baker)
How about some swatches?!
Marbs is a beautiful golden metallic. It does have some brush strokes after application, but sometimes these resolve after top coat is applied. I did not apply top coat, but I will when I wear it. This is so shimmery and glitzy in the sun! It was otherwise easy to work with, and seeing the strokes, I lightened my application hand as I painted.
Sun Baker is a beautiful rust shimmer. This is one of my favorite summer colors; I love how much this stands out against my skin, and on my nails. It’s so hot! This was was easy to apply and well-pigmented!
Bit Faker is quite an interesting combination of bronze, copper and umber glitter – this is opaque in two coats! It’s quite fabulous. It’s unique to glitters in my stash because of that brownish glitter, and just like the other two, this one looks amazing in the sun, as well.
Overall, I like these three polishes, and I want to find Champers and Poole. These three I’ve tried here are really hot summer hues, and although I don’t find Marbs particularly exciting, I find Sun Baker and Bit Faker to be seasonal favorites already.
Formula was fine, brush was fine, application was fine. I’ve never really had issues with butter LONDON polishes, and this experience was no different.
Have you seen these polishes in stores yet?! Here are some deets:
