IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation & Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer – and a Giveaway!

When I met IT Cosmetics’ co-founder Jaime Kern Lima, who also suffers from rosacea, I had a feeling I had happened upon a cosmetics brand that I had the potential to love.

IT Cosmetics launched its first foundation, Celebration Foundation, on QVC in April, while its Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer is the product that put IT on the map a couple years ago, according to Jacqueline, marketing & PR for IT Cosmetics. I had an opportunity to try the two products, and I couldn’t wait to see how they would work out for me.

But does Bye Bye live up to putting IT on the map? Does Celebration provide the coverage I was hoping for? Read on to find out! And if you stick with me, I’ve got a giveaway for you at the end!

Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer

I’ve used this concealer not only under my eye with my regular foundation (Clinique Redness Solutions) and Celebration Foundation, but over the redness on my face, under either of those foundations.

This is a thick, creamy concealer that is highly pigmented. It’s made with hydrolyzed collagen, anti-oxidants and Vitamin K (I’d usually provide the ingredients, but I have misplaced the boxes for both the concealer and the foundation! I’ve even misplaced the concealer itself, which I’m very upset about! I’m so mad at myself!) The formula is nice and it was easy to apply with a concealer brush.

Here’s a shot of it under my eye:

It blends in very nicely with my foundation, and my fair skin. Here’s a shot of what my face looks like with half concealer/Celebration Foundation, and half naked:

I used the concealer under my eye, on the apple of my cheek blended outwards toward my jawline, on my nose, my chin and a little on my forehead. This is amazing coverage.

The look is flawless; the wear is good. My verdict? I buy into the hype.

This concealer, .28 fl. oz., is available through IT Cosmetics website for $24, and on QVC for $24as well. You can also get the concealer, with a dual full-coverage and micro-concealer brush for $29 on QVC. It comes in four shades; Light (ultra fair), Neutral Medium (Light Medium), Tan (Rich Medium) and Deep (Dark Tan).

Celebration Foundation and Heavenly Luxe Buffing Airbrush Foundation Brush

Celebration Foundation is an interesting mix of ingredients to help keep skin not only covered, but smooth and hydrated. Ingredients include hydrolyzed collagen, aloe, vitamins A, C, E and K, and real silk.

The packaging is nice. It’s rubberized, and opens at the top to reveal the pressed powder foundation and a mirror. Open the bottom and find a sponge applicator:

Here’s a photo of half my face done with foundation, and the other half naked:

The thing is, I’m not crazy about this foundation on its own. It isn’t the coverage I want. I can see my redness through it, and I felt like Celebration needed a boost of concealer underneath. I did give it a go one day on its own, daringly pairing it with red lipstick!

As I mentioned, I liked it better over the Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer, though, which is great coverage:

Flawless! The foundation itself is a nice formula, feels good against my skin. You can see that this foundation, in Fair, matches my skintone. Look at my jawline:

I think, however, that I might want to try the Light shade, and see if the coverage is better on its own than the Fair shade.

I found that I use this foundation every day now that I’ve adapted to a summer makeup routine – it’s a great consistency for me to use over my color-correcting, tinted moisturizer! I put the moisturizer on, this powder, dab a little blush on and I’m good until lunch, when I touch up the powder at my chin, nose and forehead (the places I always, inevitably, rub off my foundation no matter WHAT brand or type it is!)

The surface of the foundation got a bit of a glean to it from the oils of the tinted moisturizer, and my skin, on the brush. When this first happened, I scraped at the foundation a little to disturb the sheen, but usually if I press down and rub the brush against the foundation, I’m fine.

Speaking of the brush, I apply Celebration Foundation with the Heavenly Luxe Buffing Airbrush Foundation Brush:

I love the control I have with this brush, and the bristles are soft! It reminds me of a kabuki brush. “Luxe” is a great word to describe it. It’s synthetic; IT Cosmetics is a cruelty-free company.

Here’s a shot of the top of the brush (which needs to be cleaned!):

Celebration Foundation and the Heavenly Luxe brush are sold together on here for $39.56. It comes in five different shades; Fair, Light, Medium, Tan and Rich.

So my verdict on Celebration Foundation? I love using it over my tinted moisturizer. I don’t like it on its own, although perhaps trying it in the shade Light would change my mind.

Who wants to win a brush?!

Disclaimer: The IT Cosmetic Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer, Celebration Foundation and both Heavenly Luxe brush were provided to me for review by the PR Firm/Manufacturer.  I originally received the foundation in a color not for my skin tone through a QVC press event, and the company sent me the right shade, with the second brush.
