New Shades of Milani One Coat Glitter Specialty Nail Lacquer

Milani Cosmetics not only released a new polish line for 2012, but new shades in its existing lines – including three new shades in the One Coat Glitter Specialty Nail Lacquer line.

Glitter is one of the hot nail trends right now – especially full coverage glitters and glittery accent nails. So I couldn’t wait to put these polishes on my digits!

But are they really one coat? Let’s find out! (remember, some photos are best when you click to enlarge them!)

Twinkle:

Twinkle is a gorgeous blue and purple glitter. The photo above is Twinkle after one coat.  This doesn’t deliver on the promise of full coverage bling in one coat, it actually took me three coats to opacity.

Three coats:

Twinkle is gorgeous and very concentrated-looking in the bottle, but definitely more than one coat.

Lavendar Fizz:

Lavendar Fizz is a  clear base packed with micro lavendar and regular lavendar glitter. Above is one coat.

Lavendar Fizz was opaque in two coats for me. I think the build-up of the micro glitter – it almost looks like glitter dust! – helps the formula be opaque in two coats. But still not one coat.

Pink Flare:

Pink Flare is gorgeous – it’s the same micro glitter as Lavendar Fizz (except pink!) and it has regular holographic glitter. Above is one coat. Here’s two:

This is quite the stunner!

Color Thoughts

You can’t go wrong with purple and pink for glitter. The purple and blue combo of Twinkle is common; I think Pink Flare and Lavendar Fizz are the standouts among these new colors!

Dupe Talk

Check out LA City Lights, Celebration and Fairy Dust in this post. If you missed out on the Jordana Specialty Glitters, then you can feel assured that these Milani polishes are dupes!

Application Issues

I experienced no issues in applying these polishes. I waited for each coat to dry before applying the next, to avoid pulling.

Additional Information

These three new shades are pretty additions to the One Coat Glitter Specialty Nail Lacquer line! Dupe can be found in Jordana’s Specialty Glitter line. Although they are not one coat, they bring the bling. But I think to call them One Coat is a misrepresentation of how they actually perform.

Pink Flare is my favorite of these three new colors!

These polishes are $4.99 and sold on Milani’s website and where Milani is sold near you.
