So first off, I’m going to stop apologizing for sporadic posting. Life is what it is, and I can’t help it. This weekend when I could have been swatching and prepping posts I was dealing with a stomach virus and then my sewer backing up into my bathtub (two unrelated events!). Perhaps I am not meant to do the intensive blogging I was doing and I wish I could do again. So I’m just going to accept it, do what I can do and stop apologizing for not adhereing to standards I set for myself that are unattainable right now.
Milani Cosmetics has released a Brow Tint Pen new for spring, which has a felt, fine-tip applicator and comes in two colors: Dark Brown and Natural Taupe. Here’s a picture of the pen tip:
The tip reminds me of a felt-tip eyeliner, and offers much the same precision.
In the package, they looked like dark colors I would be unable to wear. I was surprised to see how light they actually are:
I took these photos weeks ago. I think that’s Natural Taupe on the left and Dark Brown on the right. When swatching like this, I tend to put the one I use on the left for some reason, so it’s a safe bet!
I gave Natural Taupe a try. Here’s my eyebrow, before the pen. I have very light and sparse eyebrows:
After Natural Taupe:
While it’s shocking to see myself with darker eyebrows, and I think I’d be better served with a shade or two lighter, Natural Taupe really defines my eyebrows and makes me look like I have hair, compared with the sparse look I have without it.
It’s not something I will wear everyday, but I was pleasantly surprised that this worked for me. I have to master application and make sure both eyebrows are evenly accented, but I was impressed with the felt-tip applicator. I could also do a little smudging with my finger before the liquid totally dried.
This Brow Tint Pen retails for $5.99 on the Milani website.
Have you seen the Brow Tint Pen for sale at local drug stores yet? What do you think of the fine-tip felt applicator?
