I go through phases where I tend to use the same blushes over and over. In the last year or so, I’ve been using my MAC Mineralize Skin Finishes and my MAC blushes nonstop. It’s just been habit to reach for the go-to, glowing shades that I’ve got. But over the last week, I’ve been consistently using something new, and something much more wallet-friendly!
Milani’s new Illuminating Face Powder hits the mark when it comes to providing a blush to my cheeks, a highlight to my forehead and a slight shimmer to the bridge of my nose. This new product offers a buildable, smooth blush-bronzer-highlighter combo for all skin types, and all three new shades of this new product were a total score for me!
Check out a quick hand swatch of the three colors, Amber Nectar, Hermosa Rose and Beauty’s Touch (shown below in that order from left to right):
Here they are individually:
Each Illuminating Face Powder is a combination of five different colors that create a shimmery glow on your face when you swirl your brush around them. I prefer using Face Powders like this – just like my Mineralize Skin Finishes – as blushes first, making sure I get a lot of product on my blush brush to apply and blend on my cheeks and cheek bones. Then I take my blush brush and dust the powder over my forehead, nose and chin to add a gentle glow to my complexion.
I think it would be harder to draw out the individual shades in these powders, as the different colors are small. But you could use your finger to pick up some of the highlighter shades and touch it along the top of your cheek bone for added shimmer, blending it into the color on your cheek bones.
The wear on these Illuminating Face Powders is great. I used them during the work week with successful color throughout the day and into the evening. Over the weekend, when I used them a little later in the day as I got ready for various outings, they looked great on my cheeks when I went to bed.
These are $9.49 on the Milani Cosmetics website (link at the beginning of the post), and we should see them in stores if we don’t already!
