MyHabit.com is a members-only sale site that features high-end fashion, accessories and home goods. It launched May 2011 with sales under the categories of Women, Men and Children, and it added the Home section three months ago. Everything is up to 50% off (the website says 60%, though!), and there’s free U.S. shipping.
Last night I attended the launch in New York City for beauty on MyHabit.com. I was interested in attending this launch, and learning more about the site, because it is associated with Amazon.com – which is a website I know and trust.
Above: Jenny, Senior Fashion Editor at MyHabit.com, talks with the beauty press about MyHabit.com and beauty!
I asked Jenny what brand MyHabit.com will soon feature that is one of her favorites. “Tweezerman,” she said. Tweezerman will be featured on MyHabit.com, and is associated with a curated event hosted by Eva Chen from TeenVogue.com. A curated event means that the sale will feature Eva’s favorites; a mix of products. I love Tweezerman myself, I’m looking forward to seeing what will be on sale!
I asked Meredith, MyHabit.com Senior Brand Partnership Manager (she’s a beauty buyer!), what advice she has for shoppers perusing the site for bargains. She said:
- Check the site everyday because new bargains are added daily.
- Look for the brands you love.
- Seek out brands you’ve either never heard of, or never tried.
To her last point, Meredith said MyHabit.com will feature spa brands and other products that are worth a gamble!
I like this idea, because as a beauty addict, I love finding new products and brands to play with! Here’s a great example:
I love 100% Pure (the lip and cheek stain on the left…and by the way, 100% Pure makes an AMAZING mascara) but I’ve never heard of Nia24, a niacin-based, eye repair complex cream. I can’t wait to give it a shot – it’s supposed to help improve skin tone, texture and pigmentation, as well as reduce puffiness and fine lines/wrinkles.
Here are some of the other brands you’ll be able to choose from with today’s launch sale:
- Oscar Blandi
- Dr. Hauschka Kosmetik
- Anthony for Men
While those of us in attendance learned a bit about the website, we also had a bit of fun! The PR team asked all of us to take a picture individually of us doing our favorite beauty habit. Then we wrote our media outlet, and description of what our daily beauty habit is, at the bottom of the Polaroid-like photo. Here’s a tray of them!
Mine, of course, was nails! I wrote “Daily polish changes!”
So I’ll leave you with that question – What’s your favorite daily beauty habit?!
