I’ve always been given compliments such as, “You don’t look like you’re *insert age*!”
I got carded entering an R-rated movie while in my 30s.
People really know how to make a girl feel good!
Although I still receive compliments that I look younger than my age, it’s not as often. I’m now in my early 40s and I’ve noticed in the last year that my skin is starting to show signs of aging that have me staring at my reflection in my lighted Glamcor mirror, making faces. I watch as wrinkles deepen and widen, and overanalyze my puffy under-eyes.
I don’t mind aging. But I’ve taken more interest in adding in eye creams and gels and religiously cleansing and moisturizing my skin everyday and night.
It’s no wonder that when I had the opportunity to try out Airelle Skincare, I jumped on it. Given that this is a higher-end skincare line, I took my time and stuck to this regime over a four-week period as tightly as possible, to show the best possible results and share the best possible review with you.
if you’re interested in learning more about a great age-defying line, read on!
First, a little about this line!
Airelle Skincare was founded by Los Angeles Dermatology PA Kasey D’Amato who wanted something she trusted for her own personal use as she aged. She wanted something she felt confident in recommending to patients.
So she worked with her husband, Stephen, and a fellow dermatology PA Katherine Wilkens (PA-C), to bring Airelle Skincare to life after years of research. Using the blueberry – fruit of Kasey’s home state, Maine – they developed Berrimatrix® an antioxidant compound and proprietary ingredient in the Airelle Skincare line.
Airelle’s Age-Defying Facial Serum is described by the brand as “a clean, power-packed but lightweight antioxidant formula. This Serum contains highly effective ingredients such as Airelle’s Berrimatrix® formula and hyaluronic acid.”
What it Does:
• Diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
• Improves skin’s texture
• Supports skin from environmental damage
• Helps slow the onset of new wrinkle formation using Berrimatrix® technology
Each morning, I wash my face and use this serum first. I also use it first after washing my face at night.
This facial serum has the consistency of water, which I found so interesting and refreshing, especially at night. I usually pat it gently onto my skin. You can use this on your neck and décolletage, as well.
Most days I either add Danessa Myricks Beauty Oil, a moisturizing cream or SPF lotion over the serum. You can use this alone though, and it makes a great makeup primer.
You get .85 fl. oz for $158. So you can imagine how my heart stopped when I accidentally knocked the bottle over at one point, and lost a bit of my serum onto my bathroom counter! Ugh!
Here’s the ingredient list:
Berrimatrix, Aloe barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Chondrus crispus Extract (and) Hydrolyzed Chondrus Extract (and) Sodium Hyaluronate Hamamel is virginiana (Witch Hazel) Disti Ilate Water (and) Glycerin (and) Caprooyl Tetrapeptide-3, Po lymethyl si lsesqu ioxa ne, Caprylhydroxamic Acid (and) Caprylyl Glycol (and) Glycerin Lysolecithin (and) Schlerotium Gum (and) Xanthan Gum (and) Pullulan Copper Gluconate Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Extract, L-Ascorbic Acid, Sodium Citrate, Leptospermum scoparium (Manuka Honey) Extact, Eugenia caryophyllata (Bud) Extract, Mentha piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate.
I didn’t really take before and after face pics, but I did take eye and lip pics for this next product…
According to the brand, “Age Defying Eye + Lip Treatment diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around your eyes and lips.”
This treatment – also the consistency of water and the same color as the Facial Serum – promises the following:
- Diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around eyes
- Diminishes upper lip lines, smile and frown lines
- Helps reduce puffiness around eyes
- Diminishes appearance of upper lip lines
- Helps slow the onset of new wrinkle formation using Berrimatrix® technology
- Targeted wrinkle spot treatment for problem areas.
I gently shake this treatment per the directions before I roll this around my eyes and pat the treatment on my skin, and follow by rolling it around my lips, patting in the treatment there as well.
I didn’t do this, but you can put this treatment in the fridge for an added bonus refreshment when the cool rollerball touches your skin!
You receive .3 fl. oz. of treatment for $68.

This is a before (top pic) and after (bottom) collage, with four weeks in between each one:
My lips liked this treatment. I noticed subtle differences in my skin, and definitely see some of my wrinkles have shrunk/shortened, especially along the cupid’s bow of my upper lip.
There’s also a wrinkle below the one side of my lip that this treatment minimized. I experienced no feathering of my lipstick/lipgloss since using this; and I don’t use a primer as I might have otherwise.
Here’s the before (top pic) and after (bottom) of one of my eye areas:
Just like my lip pics, these were taken four weeks apart. I think my under eye area looks lifted! That is probably the biggest thing that I have noticed. I’ve examined my eye in different poses against the different poses of my “before” shots, and I see that the freckle below my eye – I swear it moved up! The dark area that extends down out from the corner of my outer eye, THAT has moved up as well. In fact, I think my whole under eye area became less droopy.
Oddly though, while I see a bit of a lift, that lift seems to have accentuated a couple of the lines in the area of my under eye. It doesn’t bother me, because overall, the skin looks better.
Overall, I would recommend either of these skincare products to you if you are concerned about aging, and want something gentle with good, natural ingredients. I have rosacea and sensitive skin, and this did not affect me negatively at all.
I’ve continued/kept up with my routine using these products well past the end date of my usage test, which for a beauty blogger that’s always hopping from product to product to test things out and report back…that’s good news.
