March Favs!

Do you recall last month, I blogged about my personal little study of makeup use (find it here)? Well, I’ve kept that going everyday, still!

It’s made me very aware of the products with which I’ve become infatuated, as well as the staples I can’t live without.

I’ve found myself reaching for the below products quite a bit, either from the beginning of the year or most recently in the last couple weeks. Are any of these a favorite of yours, too?

Danessa Myricks Love & Light Beauty Oil in Eternal Flame

I bought this oil and to be honest, I was afraid to use it.

My face seems so oily sometimes, that using an oil seems counterproductive.

It’s not.

This oil has not only helped moisturize my skin in a big way, the iridescent glow that it leaves behind adds to the dimension of glow on my face after I’ve applied my foundation. My complexion looks amazing.

I purchased my Danessa Myricks Love & Light Beauty Oil in Eternal Flame from The Makeup Show Orlando last September, but you can find it on the Danessa Myricks website here for $30 for 1 fl oz. There are other shades of this, and I want a couple of the others!

Kiehl’s Cactus Flower and “Tibetan Gingseng” Hydrating Mist

I change up my skincare routine more often than I care to admit for someone with rosacea and sensitive skin.

Right now, I’m using this hydrating mist at night after using my Airelle Age-Defying Facial Serum and Airelle Eye + Lip Treatment – two products I’m currently testing out for 28 days.  This mist is hydrating enough for me at night, and smells delightful. It’s something I intended to use on top of other daytime moisturizers but after having such a good experience wearing it to bed one night, I decided to see how it would do if I made it my nighttime moisturizer for at while.

Although he doesn’t like to smell it in the bathroom air immediately after I spray it on my face – he finds it strong – he kissed me goodnight the other night and commented that my face smelled good!

I’m sure it’s a combination of all three facial products I’m using at night, but I do love how my skin feels and looks when I wake up.

Kiehl’s Cactus Flower and “Tibetan Gingseng” Hydrating Mist is $27 for 4.2 oz and available at Sephora and Kiehl’s stores.

James Charles X Morphe Palette

I featured the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Alien Palette in my last favs, but if there’s a palette I use more than any other, it’s this James Charles X Morphe palette.

I can create such a variety of looks with this palette, from neutral to colorful. Blue, purple, pink, brown, gray/black smoky…this is my go-to when I don’t want to think about what I want to use. I have found the pigmentation great, blending is easy, and it wears well on my lids. I traveled with this when we drove to New Jersey for the holidays, but I won’t travel with it for an upcoming work trip. It’s just too big length-wise. However, I love the pan sizes and that’s OK. It can stay safely at home!

The James Charles X Morphe Palette is $39 and can be found at Morphe  and Ulta stores – when it’s in stock.

John Freida Frizz Ease Secret Weapon Touch-Up Creme

I have used a lot of products to try and balance the difference between crunchy waves/curls in my hair, and frizzy, no-product-look waves/curls. Touch-Up Crème seems to be my happy medium, allowing me to have volume without looking like I stuck my finger in an electrical outlet, while not giving my hair an overly wet look. I don’t mind the overly wet look, crunchy look, but once I used this and saw I could have something in between, I am obsessed.

I just kicked a tube of this (it will be in my March Empties!) and immediately replaced it. I also picked up another foam product from the same John Freida line to try because – much like with foundation and mascara – I can never be satisfied with the perfect thing in the moment, I have to keep trying to find another, lol! Ah, #beautybloggerlife!

John Freida Frizz  Ease Secret Weapon Touch-Up Crème – I found mine for $8.99 at Ulta.

Beauty Bakerie Lip Whips

I finally tried a Lip Whip in the last month and I am OBSESSED. I now have three lippies that will stand the test of the work day and need no (or extremely little) touch-up:

  • Lip Whips
  • Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink
  • LipSense

I don’t necessarily mind the dry feeling of some matte liquid lipsticks, so my primary concern with these is pigmentation and staying power. However, Lip Whips don’t feel drying on my lips. It almost feels like it becomes a part of my lips.

I got my Beauty Bakerie Lip Whips at Ulta for $20, and they are also available from the Beauty Bakerie site!
