January Empties

Disclaimer: PR sample, see bottom

January empties

This month I used up a ton of makeup and toiletries, from nail goodies to my Holy Grail BB Cream! I finished $103.66 worth of product, although I will not count $22.40 of it, technically, because one item was a PR sample! So for my total of the year, I’ve used up $81.26.

I don’t have a specific dollar goal in mind to use up for the year, but I thought it would be great to see the financial effect of using up my products!

KBShimmer Basic Training Base Coat and Clearly on Top Quick Dry Top Coat

I included both of these together because they are my favorite duo to achieve my longest-lasting manis!

Basic Training is a blue-in-the-bottle, clear-on-the-nails base coat that provides a sticky base for my polishes. I also sometimes use it as a base for nail wraps or nail polish strips.

Clearly on Top is my Holy Grail quick-dry top coat, giving me a glossy set of armor on top of my painted digits!

Repurchase? YES. I already have back-ups of each, although I have such a collection of base and top coats, I’m trying to use another one of each before starting my backups!

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towlettes Night Calming

My favorite facial wipes, I used two of these packages this month. I actually buy them in packs of two at Ulta for $12.99 each. You might roll your eyes – another month, another empty wipes package! But truthfully, wipes have been the difference between having a clean face at bed or not – two small children means if I don’t have those wipes out on the counter and grab-and-go while I’m trying to get my toddler to eat her veggies, I may go to sleep with hours worth of makeup still on.

Repurchase? Of course! I can’t live without them.

Bath & Body Works Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin Body Splash

Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin is, for me, the epitome of fall scents! I’ve been using this scent for years, from the sign of the first chilly New Jersey night in August until the holiday season is in full swing in December. Since fall in Florida is more like “Summer Part 2,” I didn’t really wear this as much until later in the season. I have had this bottle a couple years and finally finished it this year.

Repurchase? Yes! I already have one in my closet for fall!

Freshh Face Creamy Citrus Facial Cleanser

It’s a shame I don’t see this on the Freshh Face website right now, so I guesstimated the cost based on another similarly-sized cleanser. Freshh Face gifted me a four-piece routine of skincare from their natural ingredient line, and this cleanser was one of my favorite aspects of the regime. The scent of the mango butter and the oils – coconut, jojoba, olive and hemp – was divine. Of course it includes orange, as well as jasmine and almond. It’s very, very soft, and yummy.

Repurchase? If I could, I would, but my bottle is only 2 oz. I’d love to have a 4 oz. bottle since I use cleanser everyday and I’d still finish it in the six-month window of expiration date the product has.

Purlisse BB Cream

Well, I went on and on about this in Friday’s post, so I’ll just link you there.

Repurchase? YES. Already have back-ups!

Love Beauty and Planet Smooth and Serene Shampoo and Conditioner

I’ve featured Love Beauty and Planet on BeautyJudy a handful of times, I’m just in love with this still-new brand from Unilever. I have perpetually frizzy hair here in Florida, so I picked up Smooth and serene, made with argan oil and lavender. It smells soothing, and did a nice job on my hair.

Repurchase? I purchased another set of LBP shampoo and conditioner but I would buy this Smooth and Serene set again; I am giving a Redken shampoo and conditioner a go after I use up the LBP in my shower, it was a set I picked up during Ulta’s jumbo hair product sale a few weeks ago.

Degree MotionSense Dry Spray in Shower Clean

I’m obsessed with spray deodorants and I usually use Dove, but I love the smell of Degree products, so I tried this one. Did a great job of keeping me dry and smelling good.

Repurchase? Yes, I would.

What did you use up this past month?!
