Polish Pickup is coming up again this weekend and the inspiration for November’s shop is: Badass Women.
I absolutely love the inspiration for this. Women are pretty badass in general, and I love hearing who the different indie polish makers are using as their inspiration!
I haven’t watched or read Outlander, but KBShimmer’s description of this month’s polish makes me want to order the series right now – meet Some Like It Scot!
Christy Rose said her inspiration was born from Outlander! “I love getting lost in worlds that authors have created, and I always want to know how the story ends. That is why it pains me to admit, when I first read Outlander, it was hard for me to get into the book and I wanted to quit a quarter of the way to the end. It was a big book and it was not keeping my attention. Claire was tepid, boring and I did not like Frank. Then she went through the stones and seemed to blossom. The next months I devoured the books, staying up late to see how Claire reacted to being out of place, saw her love for Jamie blossom, experienced the heartbreak and joy of leaving her love to protect another, cheered when she bested Captain Randall and cried when she lost people she loved. Through those hours of reading, I really saw how much of a badass woman Claire Fraser was and how her love for her Scot made her persevere.”
Christy said her inspiration came from not just the books but “those images formed in my mind when reading seemed to have poured onto the screen, and the clothing is magical and helped inspire my November Badass Women’s polish, Some Like It Scot,” she said.
Some Like It Scot is a multichrome polish based on a mix of dresses Claire wore. From the vibrant emerald to her French court dress, to the deep teals and blues we see scattered among her wardrobe, to the hint of navy in the dress she wore while losing a piece of herself, this polish is a vibrant as her love for Jamie with its shifts of green, blue and deep indigo. With a touch of micro holo flake to add sparkle and shine, this multichrome homage to Claire is best in two coats.
Check out her shift in these swatches!
I loved wearing this polish. It applied easily in two coats. I wore it with KBShimmer’s Basic Training base coat and Clearly on Top top coat.
When open, shop the PPU website here. Remember – you can only purchase this over the first weekend of November! (Nov. 2-5) Don’t forget to keep up with the selling platform and KBShimmer – the Polish Pickup Facebook page is here, and KBShimmer here! Some Like It Scot will retail for $10.00 each and there is no cap.
What do you think of Some Like It Scot and her inspiration?!
