Covergirl look of the day

I mentioned in my roundup post about The Makeup Show NYC that CoverGirl had a booth,  sharing their new branding/packaging, and slogan, “I am what I make up.” I received three products at the show from the brand, including the TruNaked Smoky Eye Shadow palette, Melting Pout Matte Liquid Lipstick in Current Nude and Easy Breezy Micro-Fine Fill + Define Eyebrow Pencil in Honey Brown.

I later purchased Cheekers blush in Natural Twinkle, which I thought would complement the ready-made smoky eye look I had with the palette and lipstick!

The TruNaked Smoky Eye Shadow Palette is a nice smoky eye palette, swatching nicely on my arm and blending well on the lid over primer.

I don’t do a smoky eye often, and don’t need a lot of darker colors like this, so this palette is perfect! You can find this palette where CoverGirl is sold, for $9.98 at Walmart.

The Easy Breezy Micro-Fine Fill + Define Brow Pencil in Honey Brown I was unsure about; the color seemed like it might be too dark. But I gave it a shot anyway, and I was really happy with how it turned out.

You can find this brow pencil where CoverGirl is sold – it’s $6.99 at Walmart. It comes in three other shades.

I was really taken with the Melting Pout Matte Liquid Lipstick in Current Nude. It is a pretty shade, and it feel comfortable on my lips. It lasted well, and is a great drugstore choice to more expensive matte liquid lipsticks.

My pic is before it dried down, but you’ll see it dry in my look. You can find the Melting Pout Matte Liquid Lipstick where CoverGirl is sold, it’s $6.94 at Walmart.

Finally, the Cheekers Blush in Natural Twinkle is a perfect, muted plum color to complement this smoky look.

Natural Twinkle has a little bit of micro shimmer to it, too, which makes it a nice pick for a night out. Cheekers blush is a product I’ve been using since I started using makeup in my tween years, and I’m 41 now…so I’m a longtime fan. It applied easier on my cheeks than it did for the hand swatch. You can find Cheekers blush where CoverGirl is sold, it’s $3.44 at Walmart.

Finally, here’s the look!

The downside of wearing glasses: my Glamcor Riki Mirror reflects in them too much!

I loved this smoky eye look and the products I used from CoverGirl. Drugstore makeup has come such a long way, and these products are all keepers!

Have you tried any of these four products from CoverGirl? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!

Disclaimer: I received the palette and brow pencil for consideration from the PR Firm/Manufacturer through The Makeup Show NYC and the lipstick was part of a hand-out to attendees at the show who stopped by the Covergirl booth. Please visit my Disclosure tab for more information on how BeautyJudy.com keeps it real!
