I know we are an evolving makeup society…Matte liquid lippies were hot on their own, then they got sparkly lip toppers. Then we moved onto a more glossy lip recently.
But guys, I refuse to let my matte lippies go! AND I love my glossy lips.
Last week I reviewed The Spotlight Highlighter Palette from Macy and Mia Cosmetics – today I’m sharing thoughts on two of the brand’s lipsticks – the above shown lip liner and matte liquid lipstick set, and their highly-pigmented lip gloss.
Heather is a gorgeous brown lippie set, a perfect 1990s throwback. Here’s the liner on me:
I thought the liner was good. Pigmented. I topped it with the lipstick:
And this is after it dries down:
In my opinion you don’t need the liner with the lipstick, but I liked defining my lips before applying such a dark color. The thing is, my lip line can be a pain in the butt to do perfectly, especially with lip colors that are bold. It’s easier to accomplish a clean outline with pencil first.
This lipstick and liner duo holds up much like other brands I use, and the liquid lipstick doesn’t really break down unless I eat a meal, after which it just needs a touch-up in the center of the lips. It looks a little drier than when first applied and if you do not like a lip that feels a bit dry or like nothing is on it – this isn’t for you.
This duo can be found on the brand website here, and for $25.99.
Char is a gorgeous rosy mauve gloss. It’s deeply pigmented and feels comfortable on the lips; it’s not tacky. It’s got a nice light vanilla scent that isn’t overbearing.
Because of its pigment I get better wear from this than I do from other glosses.
Char is available here on the brand website for $12.99.
Overal I’m loving the vibe of Macy and Mia Cosmetics from what I’ve tried so far. I’m going to keep my eye on it!!
What do you think of these lippies? Are you more of a gloss than matte liquid lippie type of person?
