I’ve reviewed a few Love Beauty & Planet products so far (Creamy Body Scrub, Body Washes, Dry Shampoos), and today I’ve got a look at two sets of shampoo and conditioners from the line – Hope & Repair and Volume & Bounty. There are six targeted sets/hair care themes in the LBP product line, designed to target different hair needs.
I’ll discuss each one by type!
Hope & Repair
Hope and Repair – scented with organic Coconut Oil and Ylang Ylang flower oil – is designed to help prevent split ends, nourish and repair hair.
The scent is heavenly. I’m a huge fan of ylang ylang, as I mentioned when I reviewed the LBP Body Wash with this scent, as well.
Truthfully, I don’t know that I noticed any impact on my hair with use. While my hair felt cleansed and appropriately moisturized, I didn’t notice any difference in my split ends.
This formula worked well with my hair, though. It did not leave it frizzy, or limp, so therefore it’s a solid cleansing and moisturizing duo for me with a fantastic tropical scent.
The shampoo and conditioner retail for roughly $6.99 each and can be found at mass retailers like Target, Walmart and Walgreens.
Volume & Bounty
I was surprised after trying the Volume and Bounty duo, infused with coconut water and mimosa flower, that my hair dried with no frizz, and with a healthy glow. For the first time, I felt as if I could feel the volume in my hair in a smooth way; I’d noticed my hair was thicker due to pregnancy, but this shampoo and conditioner amplified the effect after only one use.
The silky feel of my hair and the shine really surprised me, too.
The scent is one I prefer over the Hope & Repair duo, actually! It’s still tropical, but there’s just something appealing to my senses. I love using this and the body wash and coordinating.
Overall thoughts and insights
One of the aspects of this brand that intrigued me was its fast-rinse technology with conditioners. I noted in March with my body wash review that the product seemed to rinse quicker from my loofah than other body washes; for SURE, both these conditioners rinsed easily out of my hair, but not taking the moisture along. It’s part of the brand’s commitment to being green and saving tap water, but for me, it’s also just a great time saver.
One thing I noted was in pouring out the conditioner onto my hands, I noted that sometimes it came out liquid-y at first, before the more solid consistency came out, almost as if you were squeezing the ketchup bottle and got that watery stuff first before the ketchup starts to flow. It’s no big deal, and it mixed back fine with the rest of the conditioner, but I thought it was interesting to note as I’ve never noticed a conditioner do that and wondered if it had something to do with how easily it rinses from your hair.
Also, don’t squeeze out your shampoo and conditioner and then let go of your squeeze hold before pulling the bottle away from your hand. You will SUCK UP some of the product you just squeezed out. These are mighty caps, lol!
These shampoos and conditioners are free of parabens, dyes and silicones, and the line is vegan and ingredients are ethically sourced, according to the brand. Also, both these sets are safe for color-treated hair.
All around, I haven’t tried one thing I haven’t liked from Love Beauty & Planet, and I will most definitely be purchasing new products when my current ones run out.
Have you tried Love Beauty & Planet yet? Any of their shampoos or conditioners?
