I’m always trying out new things, but there are some new goodies I try that I keep reaching for well after the “new” wears off!
Check out my current favs, and let me know in the comments – what are yours?!
Violet Voss Hashtag Eye Shadow Palette
I am feeling the pink and purple eye lately, especially when it comes to the workday dash of color in my outer corner, or a neutral shade well above my crease with a purple or pink shadow below it. It’s such a pretty look, in my opinion. While I’m still loving the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette, the Violet Voss Hashtag Eye Shadow Palette is my “in the moment” obsession.
I love the mix of browns and purples. The pigmentation has been fantastic on every shade I’ve used and I like the mix of finishes included. Also – it has a mirror! I really, really love when brands include mirrors in their palettes!
I purchased this on Sephora’s site for $45.
Lancome Drama Liqui-Pencil Longwear Eyeliner in Côte d’Azur
I believe this eyeliner was a Sephora 100 point reward. I fell in love! It glides across my lids and deposits the most gorgeous blue line! I get compliments every time I wear it and lately, I’ve been pairing it with my Hashtag palette looks. I am definitely going to need the full size, especially since I find myself using it three or so times a week!!
It’s $23, and I can pick up my full size at Sephora.
ChapStick Total Hydration Lip Balm in Blood Orange
I use lipstick almost everyday. Usually on weekends, unless I’m going somewhere, I don’t do makeup a whole lot. But I always have a lip balm handy because my lips get dry! I also don’t reapply my lipstick, but sometimes want to add a layer of lip balm for comfort.
I got this ChapStick in a prior Target Beauty Box and I love it – it’s got a nice sweet citrus scent but it’s not pure orange, which isn’t my favorite, so I like it. And it doesn’t last too long. It immediately gives my lips a burst of moisture, which makes them comfortable.
This ChapStick is $2.99 at Target.
Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara
I am generally not a fan of mascara wands that aren’t fluffy brush bristles. My lashes are thin, light and need lots of volume and length. I usually achieve spider lashes with hard or soft plastic bristles.
But Urban Decay Troublemaker has made a believer out of me. I use this by itself, or with my beloved DiorShow Mascara, and it lengthens and volumizes without two of he most irritating qualities I’ve ever experienced with mascara: raccoon eyes by noon or spider leg lashes!
I only purchased a travel size of this mascara for $11 (AND I had a coupon!) from Macy’s to see how I’d like it, but it’s on my list for full-size purchase when it runs out!
Save Your Face Moisturizer LEH Soap Company
Last summer I made a big haul at LEH Soap Company, which is a small skincare business in New Jersey. They have locations in a handful of Jersey shore towns, and a website you can order from.
My skin, at the time, was a hot mess. I was in the first trimester of my pregnancy, constantly felt like I was about to get sick, and my rosacea was crazy. I picked up some of my favorites, like Bobbie Sue Therapy soap, which is good for cleansing skin with rosacea and eczema, and I decided to try a new moisturizer, Save Your Face Youth Creme with CoQ10.
LEH told me that this creme will help reduce appearance of fine lines, help with my redness and calm my skin down as a moisturizer that goes under the surface of the skin and works its magic inside-out.
We’ve had a bitterly cold winter so far in New Jersey, and I’ve taken to using this every morning as part of my skincare routine. It has kept my skin hydrated and soft. A little goes a long way, and there’s so much product, I have tons left. I may only need to buy this once a year (it might be too thick for me to use in summer, when my skin is oily).
Save Your Face is $20 for 2 oz of cream, which is incredible. It’s on the LEH Soap Company website here.
Pixi by Petra Glow Tonic To-Go Exfoliating Tonic Pads
I’ve been using Glow Tonic for a three or four years, at least, with regular cotton rounds. But I recently bought a bad batch of cotton rounds – they’re horrible, they shed cotton pieces all over my face when I use them! So I started relying more on my To-Go Tonic Pads, which I try to save for travel, vs. the bottle and the cotton round. And I have found this to be such a quick and easy part of my morning beauty routine – I love it!
I wash my face in the shower, use a pad, apply Pixi 24K Eye Elixir, then finish with the facial moisturizer from LEH Soap Company I talked about above. My skin has been surviving the winter well so far (minus some irritation from certain makeup and my pregnancy hormones)!
I received these pads for consideration on BeautyJudy as a Pixi ambassador, but they are $18 on the Pixi website or at Target. It’s something I will purchase (I have purchased the bottle of Glow Tonic in the past) when they run out.
