The Creme Shop Peppermint Oil Infused Face Mask

The Creme Shop Peppermint Infused Face Mask CVS review

Last week, my face was in need of some TLC. I had some red bumps, and some red spots that weren’t quite bumps. I wanted to give my face an infusion of moisture and calming.

I might have been frowning here,  but I was excited to try The Creme Shop Peppermint Infused Face Mask. I found a display of holiday face masks at CVS a couple days prior to this, and picked up two or three, including this one. I believe they were only $2.99 a piece.

There was one sheet mask in the package, and it was dripping with product.

According to the packaging, the mask is supposed to refresh and cool, calm redness and blemishes and reduce oil. It sounded like the perfect one to try in my frustration over the state of my skin, as seen above!

I followed the directions, cleaning and drying my skin, then putting the mask on for 15 to 20 minutes. I went the full 20. You’re not supposed to rinse your face after taking the mask off, to allow your skin to absorb the nutrients.

Super attractive picture of me in the mask…

The mask felt cool against my skin and it was indeed refreshing. After 20 minutes I took it off and my skin felt so soft. I wouldn’t say there was an immediate calming of my redness; in fact, after the mask, my skin looks a touch redder in spots, like my cheeks and forehead:

As my skin adjusted to being free of the mask again, the redness did calm.

The mask had a pleasant, sweet peppermint scent to it. It did not bother me, but then I love peppermint and I can tolerate it in highly concentrated forms (heck I use a drop of Peppermint Essential Oil on the roof of my mouth when I want to calm a cough). If you are averse to the scent of peppermint, this might not be the mask for you.

I want to share the ingredients with you but I can’t find this specific face mask online, and I’m having trouble reading the small print on the back of the package because it’s white lettering against pale pink. It’s not showing up good on camera either, but here you go:

I can’t wait to try the other masks I picked up. Have you found a display of the seasonal face masks from The Creme Shop? If you did, did you pick up any or pass them by?
