L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation

I bought this.

I’ve been impressed with the drugstore foundations I’ve tried recently, and L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation is no exception!

This demi-matte finish foundation comes in a wide, slender tube that fits nicely in the makeup bag I carry in my purse. I’ve been using it for nearly a month now and it’s still going strong.

Infallible Pro-Matte is a liquidy and light foundation, it blends very beautifully with a brush and although it is described as medium coverage, I feel it provides me full. It promises 24-hour wear but thankfully, I’ve never had to put it to that kind of test!

I use the shade 101, Classic Ivory.

I’m naturally ruddy from my rosacea. Here I am with half a face of foundation:

My face provides a good canvas for this type of comparison, you can really see how well something covers because my skin tone is so red.

Here’s my full face:

Overall, this foundation was great for my skin. As a reminder, my skin type tends to be oily in my T-zone by mid-morning/lunchtime, with some dry, flaking skin on my forehead. Definitely a combo skin but leaning oily in summer. I sought every mattifying face product I could this summer!

As far as wear, this wears great. I had some wear at my chin at the end of the night, which would be 12+ hours of wear, but nothing that would stop me from using this foundation. Between this and my Revlon Youth FX Fill + Blur foundation, if I needed to stick to drugstore for foundations, I absolutely would be happy!

And finally, the finished look:

You can find L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation in lots of places. I got mine at CVS. It’s suggested retail price is $12.99 but you can catch sales and get it even cheaper.

Have you tried this foundation yet? I love how it feels going onto my skin, and how lightweight it is throughout the day with such amazing coverage! I’d love to hear your thoughts on it below if you’ve tried it, and whether this is something your skin could use!

    That has seriously good coverage!

I love it when a drugstore product pulls through!

Likewise, I feel like drugstore foundations are really on point lately. There are so many I love now, and just a few years ago I could name maybe one that kinda sorta works for my skin type.

Oooh that is very good coverage! I wonder if it will work well on acne scars (the pitted ones) and cystic acne itself.

I don’t know for sure, because my skin type is more combo and my issues are red bumps, but I can tell you that my forehead here is a minefield of tiny bumps. At least a hundred. My skin and pregnancy are not meshing perfectly lol. And I’m impressed that it evens my skin tone, although in certain light I’m sure you can still see I have bumps.

  • marciaf

The way it covers your redness is terrific. It looks like a full coverage foundation so it’s good to know that you find it lightweight once on.

    • BeautyJudy

Yes! I really love the feel and that I can depend on the wear.

the coverage is great, I just wish it didn’t have silicone.

    • BeautyJudy

Are you allergic or just don’t like the feel of this ingredient? I generally avoid primers with silicone because I hate how they feel – they don’t help me at al

That looks like really good coverage! Maybe I need to try it! Have you ever tried Maybellines Fit Me? If so how does it compare?

    • BeautyJudy

Yes I have! I feel like this one wears better for me in areas like my chin. Fit Me is more liquid, this one is a touch thicker. I do honestly like both, I was planning to review Fit Me next. I also am using it with a Fit Me pressed powder to set it.

  • Jen Sky Walker

I really want to try this foundation! The few places I’ve looked for it all seem to be out of my shade range for some reason but I’ll keep trying.

    • BeautyJudy

Oh I can’t wait to hear what you think of it!

  • Ehmkay Nails

I have a similar skin type to you (combo but oily in summer) and I have some redness on my cheeks. Sounds like I need to try this. Your half face is so helpful!

    • BeautyJudy

I guess one positive of having a red pale face is the drama of my foundation swatches, lol!!! Yes I’m seriously very impressed by this, it’s become my everyday foundation.
