September Empties!

Disclaimer: Some PR Samples, see bottom.

September empties post beautyjudy

My empties are focused on skincare this month, with facial cleansers taking the prize for most finished products!

LVX 3-in-1 Treatment

I received a sample of this treatment a couple years ago from LVX and wasn’t super impressed by it, it didn’t seem to “treat” anything and in the age of quick-dry top coats, I favored others over this. I did, however, use it as a base coat for swatching, until it ran out this month. I wrote about this treatment here on my blog, if you’re interested in learning more – but it’s not offered on the website so I’m not sure it’s even a thing anymore.

Would I repurchase? No, I didn’t find it useful for my nail needs, and I don’t even see it listed for sale on the brand’s website, any way.

Pixi by Petra Glow Mud Cleanser

I received a sample of this from Pixi several months ago and I’m not sure why I never reviewed it. This mud cleanser has 5% glycolic acid and aloe vera – and a wonderful, herb scent (to my sniffer, lol). This always cleansed my face well, without foaming up. I used it in the shower every morning.

Would I repurchase? Yes! I love the scent, it was refreshing as I woke up in my morning shower, and I like how clean my skin was after.

Lever 2000 Original Soap Bar

In recent years I’ve been on more of a soap bar kick than a shower gel kick. Lever 2000 is a soap I remember from several, several years ago; it’s got this clean scent that I adore, and I love smelling it as I bathe! I only bought one bar, for sentimentality’s sake.

Would I repurchase? Yes, but probably not soon. I love the smell of this but I have a million body cleansers from gels and foams to handmade bars and scrubs to use up first!

Garnier Soothing Makeup Removing Cleansing Towelettes

In July, I mentioned that I’d picked up two or three new packages of these wipes. Well, I kicked my next to last one; these wipes are fantastic for those nights I just don’t feel like going through the facial washing routine – which is quite often, unfortunately!

Would I repurchase? Yes, I need to restock!

Neutrogena Make-Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes (travel size)

Perfect for in-my-purse, on-the-go to fix makeup mistakes, take care of shadow fall out and wipe pigmented liquid liipstick off my fingers when I apply it and fix it with them, haha. This is the second or third packet I’ve used up this year, I believe!

Would I repurchase? Yes, I need to restock!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel

I received a sample tube of this in one of my Target Beauty Boxes. I got a lot of miles out of this small tube! I love gel moisturizers because they are slick and thin and absorb nicely. But I do prefer a cream moisturizer this time of year. This seems like it’d be great for summer!

Would I purchase? Probably not, at least not before next summer.

Duross & Langel Peppermint Facial Scrub

This facial cleanser was wonderful to use with my morning shower – it livened me up while doing a nice job of gently exfoliating my skin. Ingredients include pulverized walnut hulls and kaolin clay, along with Japanese peppermint oils according to the brand website. I only had a travel size bottle because I wanted to try it out before committing to a full size.

Would I repurchase? Yes. It was a nice light facial exfoliating cleanser, mild enough for frequent use on my sensitive skin.

Vince Camuto Ciao perfume sample

I received this sample of perfume in my Macy’s Beauty Box from September. My husband complimented me on the scent, which was nice and so I found myself wearing it until the last drop! It had a sweet scent, yet with a slight musky edge. I’ll share more details about it in my upcoming post about the box!

Would I purchase? Possibly. But I have a great deal of perfume to use up and a ton of samples to get through first!

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Luminzer Primer sample

I received this sample through a recent Sephora order, and got three uses out of it. I probably could have gotten four if I’d been a little more conservative! But I liked it. It did add a very subtle illumination, and I liked that it wasn’t one of those super velvety/slick primers, although it didn’t have the consistency of a moisturizer as it went on. I can’t explain the consistency as I rubbed in – it felt a little denser than usual.

Would I purchase? No. I have a ton of primers to get through right now!

So what did YOU use up this month that you loved?!

Disclaimer: I received the Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser and LVX 3-in-1 Treatment (in the past) for honest consideration by the brands. Please visit my Disclosure tab for more information on how BeautyJudy.com keeps it real!

I go through a lot of wipes too. About to finish up some concealers and primers

    • BeautyJudy

      Awesome job!!!

  • marciaf

I love seeing all your empties. I’ve finished a Too Faced Shadow Primer and had a backup. I think they are a new formula now though so I’ll buy it again some day.

    • BeautyJudy

I want to try that primer next!

I’ve been using the Dr. Brant Pores no More and I’ve been loving!

    • BeautyJudy

      It’s nice!

  • FabZilla_Kath

I salute you for finishing up aplenty! I am struggling in that aspect lol

    • BeautyJudy

Doing these monthly posts has helped me commit to using some things up, or throwing it out if I don’t see myself using it up or liking it. It’s been freeing, and helped me focus on using what I’ve got!

    I need that cleanser!

    • BeautyJudy

      The Pixi one? It’s awesome!

  • Allison @neversaydiebeauty

Great job this month! Skincare is what I always use up too. I’m impressed that you finished a base coat. I don’t think I’ve ever finished any polish before it thickened or dried out

    • BeautyJudy

Ha, that treatment took me quite possibly three or two years to finish, I only used it when I swatched as my base coat. I DO fly through top coat a couple times a year, though, especially when I do my nails more frequently.
