KBShimmer has released a mid-season collection and I’m in love with the texture of it!
Did you see the exclusive PolishCon NYC pretty, We Make Your Dreams Come Blue? The Summer Vacation collection is 8 nail polishes with the same formula as that pretty exclusive, in an array of fun, summer hues.
Check ’em out…
Flock This Way
Flock This Way is described as a raspberry pink shade with glowing holo flakes and a copper shimmer. It morphs into a deeper pink and coral in various lighting! i tried hard to capture the shifts but this is one of the glowiest pink polishes I’ve ever owned. I don’t generally gravitate towards pinks in a nail polish collection, because pink feels “done.” But I do not feel that way about this pink. It’s unique and shifty and I don’t own anything else like it! Shown here in two coats, application was pretty easy.
Shady Beaches is described as a coppery orange shade loaded with glowing holo flakes and rose gold shimmer. The base of this polish is work appropriate but all the beautiful holo flakes just make this a corporate party. This is going to stand out against darker skin tones, I love it. Shown here in two coats, application was easy!
Squeeze the Day
Squeeze the Day is described as a juicy, lemony yellow with orange-leaning copper shimmer, as well as the glowing holo flakes that make this collection stand out! This yellow is divine – the orangey-copper shimmer makes it a complement to my skin tone, which is hard to do with some yellows and the my skin, which is “pale AF.” Shown here in two coats, application was the same as the others – great.
Kiwi Real is described as a kiwi color with a grass-green shimmer and of course, the glowing holo flakes! If I had to pick my least favorite of the collection, I’m wearing this AS I TYPE guys, with Flock This Way and a couple Jamberry nail wraps. I love it!!! It totally reminds me of Ecto Cooler. Do you remember Hi-C Ecto Cooler?! Shown in two coats, easy peasy application.
No Wave! is described as a deep teal-leaning turquoise base with blue shimmer and glowing holo flakes. The inspiration is – of course – pools! This reminds me of my cousin’s pool, because her pool liner is a darker blue like this. It’s gorgeous! Shown here in two coats, no issues on application.
Hashtag You’re It!
Hashtag You’re It! is described as an indigo-leaning grape with a funky inky blue to deep purple shift – and those glowing holo flakes! I love the inspo for tihs polish; the game of TAG! You’re It! Is there anyone that didn’t play this growing up? Nowadays when I’m playing a game of tag it’s usually hashtags on Instagram! This is shown in two coats here, application was great.
Berry Chill is described as a red-leaning purple with violet shimmer and holo glow flakes. This polish glows SO much, it’s hard to not get distracted by the beauty on your nails! shown here in two coats, it applied just as well as the others.
I’m Onyx is described as an onyx black polish with shimmer of blue and purple and the glowing holo flakes. This is the summer nighttime sky in a bottle, and the nighttime sky is a particular love of mine; I wear the constellation Casseopia on my right forearm proudly, and I stay on top of when the next meteor shower is happening. There’s something so tremendous and beautiful about something so vast, gorgeous and unknown that I love. And this reminds me of what the nighttime sky looked like one summer vacation I took to the mountains of West Virginia. Shown here in two coats, applied beautifully.
Overall, this collection is truly gorgeous. For me with my short nails, they were all opaque in two coats, even the green and yellow.
Removal doesn’t require anything extra; I have removed Flock This Way and Kiwi Real so far with Zoya Remove + and there was no issue.
I loved how We Make Your Dreams Come Blue looked, and as a lover of all things duo, shimmer, holo and flake, I am really excited to see a collection in the same texture/finish as these polishes.
Speaking of texture! I used one coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top over the polishes I’ve worn so far, and there is no bumpiness or “texture” feeling like with some polishes – this is flake not glitter.
This collection launches July 28 on KBShimmer.com and Amazon.com, and select salon and retailers. Price is $9.25 per polish.
What do you think of the Summer Vacation collection?! And what about you – did you take a summer vacation this year or have one planned?! We don’t!
