I bought this.
A flushed, glowing look in one sweep?
I couldn’t resist that, so I picked up an IT Cosmetics Confidence in Your Glow at The Makeup Show NYC in May.
This blush, bronzer and highlighter combo product, in which the bronzer fades into the blush, which fades into the highlighter, is beautiful.
The packaging is gorgeous, a sturdy cardboard that is pink but holographic.
I am thrown off every time I use it, though, because it opens a little differently than other palettes; the part of the lid that lifts is the part that is pink. The white doesn’t move. I get thrown by that every time as I try to open it from the bottom, lol!
There’s an even amount of each product included in the palette. The idea is that you run your brush across all three and you apply to give your skin brightening and warmth, as well as a glow, according to the website.
IT Cosmetics says that Confidence in Your Glow has a fresh orange scent with its vitamin C-infused formula. I had to go back to the palette and purposefully sniff it to register the scent. I didn’t even notice the scent prior to learning that it had one! Confidence in Your Glow comes in three shades:
- Instant Nude Glow – sheer natural glow
- Instant Natural Glow – natural rosy glow with warmth
- Instant Warm Glow – deep payoff with the bronzer in this one, which is the deepest of the three; with a gorgeous peachy-pink blush.
You can also purchase a brush to use with this palette – Heavenly Sweet One-Sweep Wonder #705 – but I skipped it because it was a hefty price tag and I didn’t see in the immediate what else I might use it for.
I swatched each of the colors in the palette alone, then together:
I love how this all blends together on my skin. It really is a beautiful rosy glow.
I know the whole point of this is to have “one sweep” of color on your cheeks. But I like to be different, what can I say. And I’m sure you’ve seen reviews where it’s used that way. So I’m going to be me and tell you that I really like applying each color separate!
I like to apply the bronzer on the back of my cheek, at just under the cheek bone. I apply the blush on the cheek bone, but not quite all the way out to the apple. I apply the highlighter to the apple, top of cheek bones and on nose, cupid’s bow and above eye brows.
I think my technique works!
But, since it is supposed to be used a certain way, I did try wearing it like that, as well.
Confidence in Your Glow costs $32. QVC offers a great bundle deal for a color and the brush for $35.92 (plus S&H). I don’t remember how much I paid but I believe there was a show discount.
Would I buy another color? I don’t know. I like this one, but I’m not interested in having a deeper shade of bronze because I’m pale, and I don’t “need” a nude blush. They are all beautiful sets but I’m really happy with the one I have.
Have you tried Confidence in Your Glow yet? What do you think?
