When this line of liquid eye shadows showed up at my door, and I swatched them, I gasped. Look at them lined up – they’re gorgeous!
The Jesse’s Girl Fluid Shadow line is stunning, lightweight product that has a metallic finish.
Left to right: Midnight Sky, My Blue Heaven, Purple Haze, Royal Orchid, Twilight, Destiny, Rose Bronze, Penny Arcade, Gold Dust, Enchanted Forest, Meadow, Snowflake.
The metallic lids trend is totally doable on this drugstore budget – these shadows are $4.99 a pop.
Here’s a closer look at them:
L to R: Midnight Sky, My Blue Heaven, Purple Haze.
L to R: Royal Orchid, Twilight, Destiny.
L to R: Rose Bronze, Penny Arcade, Gold Dust.
L to R: Enchanted Forest, Meadow and Snowflake.
I have to admit, before going further, that I didn’t find these the easiest to work with, so I want to talk about that but then tell you how I fell in love with them through trial and error. So stay with me for a second!
I used these with eye shadow primer.
I used them without it.
I used a brush.
I used my finger.
I used a lot.
I used a little.
I covered my eye from lid to brow for highlight.
I only covered my lid.
No matter what, they came out patchy for me. Even at lightest application, exactly where they recommend, which is across the lid – not into the crease.
My first success came when I tried a lighter shade under my brow to highlight. I dabbed Snowflake (an icy white metallic) under my brow and blended down. And it looked great. So this is one way I wear the lighter shades in the line, and highly recommend it!
My second recommendation, and my favorite, favorite FAVORITE way to wear them? I tried them as a metallic eyeliner and it was amazing. Check this out:
This is the shade Rose Bronze with very light, neutral eye makeup and mascara. My eyes POPPED with this metallic liner and I received a lot of compliments on this simple look.
While I found my mojo with these as a liner, just a friendly tip: it will flake off if you rub the inner corner of your eye.
With metallic such a trend right now, I am loving the extra pop on my lids with these as liners.
For this use, I would want to own every shade in this line because I am obsessed with the metallic look right now. I reach for Rose Bronze the most, though.
You can find these here on the Jesse’s Girl website for only $4.99 a pop!
