Pixi Beauty by Petra did a fab collaboration of two palettes with vlogger ItsJudyTime – one for lips and one for eyes.
I love the general warmth and day-to-night of this eye shadow palette, so I was excited at the opportunity to try it out, because I was already planning to buy it! It includes 12 eye shadow shades that range in finish from matte to slightly glittery.
Judy is one of four beauty gurus that Pixi collaborated with for a collection of goodies ranging from skincare to contouring and highlighting.
Check out swatches of each row of shadows, from top to bottom:
Left to right: Snowflake (champagne shimmer), Bubbly (gold shimmer) and itsmommyslife (camel color in more of a pearl finish).
Left to right: Good Morning (a cafe matte hue), Brick (brick rose pearl) and Honey Bear (beige brown matte).
Left to right: Tu Tu (milk chocolate matte), Getaway (rosey brown shimmer) and Ping (brown shimmer).
Left to right: Dark Chocolate (dark chocolate matte), Aww Snap (even darker chocolate matte) and Night Night (navy blue glittery shimmer).
All of the shadows felt like a smooth, creamy powder formula, although as I swatched them on my arm, against bare skin (no primer), Dark Chocolate, Aww Snap and Tu Tu, Good Morning and itsmommyslife didn’t deposit as much pigment in one swipe. However, I have used almost all of the shadows (with the exception of a couple) and I didn’t have any issue blending them on my lid or getting a good amount of pigment to transfer.
One unique aspect of this palette is the mirror. It comes with a mirror you can adhere to the lid, wherever you want.
I took a picture of my reflection in it so you can see that for a thin, self adhering mirror, it’s not bad!
I chose to adhere it in the center, behind the logo:
Here’s a look I did with the palette!
For my eyes, I used a combination of shadows! Bubbly across my lid, Getaway in the outer corner of the lid, Ping in the crease, Snowflake to highlight the brow bone.
I also used:
- Sweat Cosmetics Mineral Foundation in shade 100
- Mehron Celebre Pro Contour/Highlight Pressed Powder Palette
- DiorShow Mascara
- Pixi Lower Lash Mascara
- Serenity + Scott Brow Gel in Golden Blonde
- Pixi Eye Zone Brightener
- Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Graphic Greige
- Pixi Eye Bright Liner in No. 1 Nude
- Pixi LipLift Max in Sheer Rose
Overall, I was impressed with the quality of the shadows, how pigmented they are and how well they blended. I used brushes to apply them, although Judy recommends on the back of the packaging that you can use your fingers to apply. The palette costs $24, and you can purchase it at Target or through the Pixi Beauty website.
Have you tried any of the collaboration products that Pixi has launched? I’d love to hear what you think of any you’ve tried!
