February Empties!

Disclaimer: Some PR samples, see bottom.

empties samples beautyjudy

I used up a lot of products this month!

As part of my 40 Before 40 adventure, I also pledged to use more of the samples I’ve been given, because they hang around and I haven’t been traveling as much as I used to, so they don’t get used on the road. So I created a special little section for the samples I’ve tried, too!

Let’s dive right in!

KBShimmer Picture Perfect Cuticle Cream

KBShimmer Picture Perfect Cuticle Cream

So last month I featured KBShimmer’s Picture Perfect Cuticle Cream in my empties post….and the month before I featured it in its own review blog post. So I won’t go into a ton of detail here except to say that I absolutely will miss the Southern Belle scent as it is discontinued! Never fear – there are plenty of other scents to choose from!

Would I buy another? Without hesitation, yes! ALL OF THE YES!

Nail Tees

Nail Tees

Nail Tees have been a staple in my nail polish and nail art life for several years now. I don’t use as many as I used to since I use a lot of Jamberry wraps, but I have too massive of a nail polish stash to NOT use nail polish and create mixed manis with the wraps, so they still get a workout. They are perfect dry or soaked in nonacetone remover to clean up my cuticle while polishing.

Would I buy another? ALL OF THE YES!

Gelish Mini Nail Surface Cleanse

February empties Gelish Mini Nail Surface Cleanse

Gelish Nail Surface Cleanse has only recently become a staple for me in my mani routine. I use it to prep my nails prior to polishing and applying Jamberry wraps. It cleanses the nail plate and makes sure it’s oil-free. I haven’t used gel nail polish in quite some time because I seemed to have developed an allergy to it, but I was using this to cleanse the nail after curing gel top coat, too.

Would I buy another? ALL OF THE YES! A little goes a long way.

Beauty Counter Charcoal Cleansing Bar

Beauty Counter Charcoal Cleansing Bar beautyjudy

I totally forgot to take a picture of some of the Beauty Counter items I received at a press event with Target last year. One of them was this soap by Beauty Counter, the Charcoal Cleansing Bar.

I used this up this month, and it was a pretty good soap. I was a little sad when I used it up.

Would I buy another? Nope. It’s a $24 bar of soap, and I can’t get it at Target anymore because the collaboration was limited edition last year.

Kleenex Eye Makeup Removers

Kleenex eye makeup removers beautyjudy

I used up my third package of these eye makeup remover pads this month!

I reviewed them here, and talked about how much I liked them, and I certainly have put my money where my blog review is, because I’ve repurchased them twice, with the intention of purchasing again. Kleenex announced they were more broadly available – meaning, I didn’t have to order through the Kleenex site anymore – and I’ve been stalking my Walmart, Target, CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens nearby for the moment they are stocked. So far, no luck.

Would I buy another? Absolutely. As soon as I see them in stores they are MINE.

Pixi Beauty Moisturizing Cleansing Cloths

Pixi by Petra beauty target moisturizing cleansing cloths

These wipes are great. There’s 40 to a package, so they last me a while. They’re formulated with Aloe Vera and Camellia Oil, and they did the job at night when I wanted to skip my cleansing routine and go for fast-and-easy.

Would I buy another? Because I want something to take off my makeup at the end of day, no.

DiorShow Mascara

DiorShow mascara beautyjudy

This mascara is amazing. It volumizes, lengthens, defines and holds up against all day wear. I received a sample of it in a Sephora order a while ago and I’ve been using it nearly religiously (I use other stuff in between as I wear test it and lately I’ve been doing a lot of wear testing).

I think there’s still a little mascara left but to be honest I’ve been using this tube for a long time, and it’s starting to dry a bit. Plus, hygiene. Shouldn’t keep your mascara longer than three months and I blew right past that with this little guy.

Would I buy another? I have procrastinated buying another one but it’s inevitable. This is my favorite mascara at the moment. However – I’m going to wait until I’ve used up some of my other mascaras first!

Samples

KBShimmer Paradise Lotion

I love KBShimmer, and I love the feel of this lotion, but I couldn’t stand the smell. It was overpowering and definitely not my kind of scent. I would absolutely try a KBShimmer full size lotion, but I will not choose it in this scent!

KBShimmer Lilac Lotion

Again – love the feel of this lotion…but regarding the lilac scent, I’m not sure I’d want a big tube or tub of lotion or cream in this scent, perhaps a cuticle cream. But it doesn’t matter. It’s a discontinued scent!

Josie Maran 100% Argan Oil Light

I really love Josie Maran’s products, and I’ve used her Argan oil before – not the light though. I used this on my face as a moisturizer and also to take my frizz. I would definitely buy a Josie Maran Argan Oil product, and consider this. But I would probably prefer regular version.

Tory Burch Love Relentlessly Perfume

Simply put? I really like this perfume, and I want to purchase a full size bottle.

belief The True Cream – Aqua Bomb

I love the feel of this moisturizer but I only used it a handful of times, and it’s hard to form an opinion on skincare with a sample!

Kryolan Make-Up Remover Wipes

These makeup wipes are large, they’re sturdy and they do the job. I went to purchase more online but they were sold out. Next time I’m in NYC, I’m seeking out the Kryolan store and buying them!

First Aid Beauty Coconut Skin Smoothie Primer Moisturizer

I like First Aid Beauty, and I’m not surprised I like this. It feels nice. However, I didn’t want to like it. Because I would definitely buy the full-size container of this!

Disclaimer: I received the Pixi Moisturizing Cleansing Cloths and Charcoal Cleansing Bar for honest consideration from the brands. All other products were purchased or received as samples with an order. Please visit my Disclosure tab for more information on how BeautyJudy.com keeps it real!

I rarely remember to use packet samples. Color me impressed!!

    • BeautyJudy

      Lol me either!

  • http://www.primebeautyblog.net PrimeBeauty

Wow that’s a lot of empties!

    • BeautyJudy

I was excited to see them all!

  • Phyrra Nyx

    I need that cuticle cream.

    • BeautyJudy

      Yes! It’s a must have

  • Norah Salazar

OMG thats a ton of empties. The Pixi wipes sound divine. I hardly ever buy mascara so agree with you on using samples mostly.

    • BeautyJudy

The wipes are nice, I like their makeup removing wipes better I think!

  • marciaf

Good job on empties. It takes me so long to finish things. The only thing you showed that I didn’t like is the Kleenex eye makeup removers. The scent of them made me sick and I had to toss them. I do like the cotton pads they make though and bought several boxes.

    • BeautyJudy

I know we have different views on those wipes, lol! But I love that, not everything works for everyone and people should know that when they read our blogs!

  • http://www.cosmetopiadigest.com/ CosmetopiaDigest.com

You finished up quite a bit! I’ve been avoiding buying full-sized mascaras as well. I bought the Sephora Favourites Lash Stash and the minis have been seeing me through for quite a while now.

    • BeautyJudy

Yes I like to change and experiment with brands so samples are awesome!

  • Allison @neversaydiebeauty

Great job, Judy!! I’m so glad you’re doing empties posts too! I would love to try the Kleenex eye makeup remover wipes but I will not buy them online and get stuck paying for shipping. I hope they’ll start selling them in stores soon. You used up so many nail products this month, yay

    • BeautyJudy

Thanks, I’m really enjoying it, it’s motivating me to stick with products and finish them now that I’m chronicling them monthly!!
