I can not believe it’s August 1, and that I’m already swatching fall nail polish colors for you!
But it won’t be long til fall now, and you’re gonna want your nails to look good whether they’re grabbing a latte or tugging the sleeves of your sweater down your hands to keep warm against a crisp breeze.
Zoya’s Urban Grunge collection for fall includes six one-coat cream nail polishes, along with six metallic holo polishes, although only three are true holos. More on those tomorrow – today, we focus on the creams!
Noah is described by the brand as a mid-range taupe evenly balanced between yellow and grey. Very accurate, although on my ruddy pale complexion, it pulls more yellow. I’ll typically wear anything without caring, but I’m not sure this is very flattering for me; I’ll likely save this one for nail art.
August is described by the brand as a full coverage gray like a fine, expensive leather with a mid-ranged, balanced tone. This one reminds me of drying concrete, not quite totally wet but not dry. This one seems a little more blue-toned in my photo than perhaps it is in real life, it’s a great fall color and a neutral that’s a good transition color for its namesake month…August!
Wyatt is described by the brand as a true racing green with a deep pigment. I LOVE this color. It’s the perfect fall green; not too festive, and bold but not bright.
Tara is described by the brand as a purple plum with a balanced tone between red and purple. I LOVE a vampy shade like this for fall, I can not wait to get this on my digits. This is my second favorite polish from this collection (the first is coming up soon!).
Courtney is described by the brand as a deep red beet root shade. I don’t consume beets often or at all…but this is my kind of beet. It sort of reminds me of a Dr. Pepper soda kind of red in person.
Mallory is described by the brand as a full bodied, vibrant Prussian blue with a deeply saturated color. I am SO in love with this shade of blue, I am going to need a back-up bottle. Mallory is so sophisticated, you can wear her to work, to the fall festival or an October Saturday evening wedding. I LOVE it.
So what about that “one coat cream” claim? It’s true. All of these polishes are highly pigment, and you could be done in one coat. I do prefer two, and that’s what I used here. In one of my upcoming posts, I’ll have more for you about a great way to do a fall Zoya mani, from start to finish, using the Naked Manicure system; stay tuned later this week!
So which Urban Grunge cream will you be picking up when they release on August 15, 2016 on Zoya.com? The creams will retail for $10 ea.(US) and I’m sure you will be able to pick them up as a set!
As always, these Zoya nail polishes are made without formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, dibutyl phthalate, camphor, THTP, parabens, xylene, ethyl tosylamide and lead.
Share your favorites in the comments below, I’d love to hear!
