Gaaaaah, who’s excited for KBShimmer‘s fall 2016 collection?!
From the moment these showed up at BeautyJudy HQs I was excited to share them with you!
This collection challenges the traditional gray, burgundy and vampy offerings we see with some very refreshing – and fresh – takes on the colorful fall season.
Let’s just jump right in!
Sweet Devotion is described by KBShimmer as a candy-inspired white crelly. Inspired by a picture of those fun-sized goodies, this polish is filled with candy wrapper colored hex glitters in blue, red, yellow, orange, green and brown. A scattering of micro slice glitters completes this sweet polish. Two to three coats recommended. I swatched this in two coats and had a good go of it with the formula. THIS is one of my favorites, perhaps my top favorite, of the collection!
Poppy Kisses is described by KBShimmer as a bright, orange-toned red with linear holo, that brings to mind “that famous poppy-filled field.” Two coats are recommended for this polish, and I had success with application. I love this take on red for fall!
Turning Pointe is described by the brand as a new addition to the Mega Flame line. It’s a soft peachy pink color that KBShimmer says brings to mind ballet slippers and tutus. I felt super princessy when I put two coats of this on! Which, by the way, two coats is recommended! LOVE.
Tiers of Joy
Tiers of Joy is described by the brand as a soft cake batter color base filled with pops of gold holographic glitters and pink glitters, while nutmeg and micro holographic glitter adds a hint of spice. Two to three coats recommended. I love this. It actually reminds me of a wedding cake from a fall wedding Mike and I went to the first year we were dating!
Flake Me Home Tonight
Flake Me Home Tonight is described as a minty metallic polish loaded with silver flakes and holographic sparkle. Two to three coats recommended. What I love about this polish is the insane sparkle that seems to blind you in light, it’s beautiful.
Little Boy Hue
Little Boy Hue is described as a soft “baby” blue inspired by the 2016 Pantone Color of the Year, Serenity. The creamy pastel blue is designed to be a transition shade for fall, with a calming feel. It’s actually a bit more dusty and muted than my picture shows; I honestly don’t know if I have any other blues like this in my collection. Beautiful, two-coat coverage. HOWEVER – check out my index finger. It’s one coat. I left it one coat to show you that this could be a one-coater if necessary.
The Best Mum Ever
The Best Mum Ever is described as a deepened lavender color polish loaded with a pinky-red micro flakie that adds a fun dimension to this mum-inspired polish. Best in two to three coats. It was hard to capture this one, so I had to flash it. Definitely another one that’s unique!
Orchidding Me? is inspired by the orchids of KBShimmer owner Christy’s mother, with a warm purple base that leans fuchsia, amped up with some linear holographic pigment. Recommended one to two coat coverage. I’m noticing that bright, rich purple (holo!) is a small trend this fall.
Oh My Ganache
Oh My Ganache is inspired by that rich chocolate glaze, and is described by the brand as a rich chocolate-colored linear holographic polish. Two to three coats recommended. Another one that I don’t have duplicated in my stash. The holos in this collection – and really all of KBShimmer’s holos – easily apply and are richly pigmented.
Fright This Way
Fright This Way is a Halloween-inspired polish with a deep black base, a scattering of holo dust and loads of purple glitter. At certain angles this polish looks plain patent leather black, but when the light catches the glitter, the purple pops! Two to three coats recommended. I love the glossy look of this – I didn’t even top coat it!
Pair Fright This Way with the loose bat glitters you get when you order this polish! Actually, it’s free with fall collection orders (while supplies last), and is a baggie with metallic purple bat glitters.
There are two nail polishes in this collection that I do not have. Sage It Ain’t So is described as a soft sage green, an earthy polish filled with copper, lavender and silver glitter. A sprinkling of holo dust adds subtle depth. Two to three coats of this are recommended. Grin And Gerbera It is a new addition to KBShimmer’s creams, and is a warm deep pink-leaning color that has a kiss of red to it. The brand said this shade will work well in any season. One to two coats recommended.
This 12-piece nail polish collection launches on August 19. The polishes will retail for $9.25 each according to a press release, and in addition to the KBShimmer site, the polishes will be available on HarlowandCo.org, LiveLovePolish.com and Color4Nails.com for international customers.
What do you think of KBShimmer’s fall collection? I find the colors fresh for the season, and I love how many unique shades are included!
