The makeup world is full of unicorns and limited edition products that sell out faster than you can refresh your browser.

Sometimes we get lucky and the brands bring them back again, but sometimes the products sell out and there is nothing you can do but admire other lucky shoppers’ pictures on Instagram.

At The Makeup Show New York City, I received a sample of an Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics exclusive shade for The Makeup Show, a collaboration with James Vincent, the celebrity makeup artist who runs education for The Makeup Show. It’s called New York Groove.

I sure hope this shade is available again, I love it – it’s a little less pinky than the nudes I go after, it’s a bit more golden and caramel.

The Lip Tar formula doesn’t disappoint – a little goes a long way as always. It’s of course much easier to apply in the ready-to-wear packaging.

If this goes for sale, I will edit and update this post with the information!

Do you have a unicorn that you lust after, or a unicorn that you’re proud/excited to have gotten?!

Beautiful, wearable shade! I love the new packaging as well. I’m not a fan of lip products in a squeezy tube because I’m klutzy and end up squeezing half the product out at one go.

I always used a lip brush, but it wasn’t retractable and Lip Tars are potent and I left marks on many a cosmetic bag, lol

Nice shade. Please let us know when we can get it!

    • BeautyJudy

      I will!

Now that they have this new packaging I’m interested in the Lip Tars again. I ended up tossing my tubes since they were inconvenient to use.

I was a bit against the new packaging because it felt so commercialized, but after using a couple, man, these really are amazing and the amount you pull out on the doe applicator is perfect.
