Does everyone else think of their birthday as their own little national holiday?!
Well, on my birthday May 12, I took off from my day job and headed into NYC to attend the Target Fall Beauty Preview, so I could learn what goodies the store will be offering to us soon – and products start rolling out in June!
There was a lot to consider, when you think about how many brands of cosmetics, skin care and hair care Target carries. But I captured some of the highlights from brand favorites like Sonia Kashuk and Pixi, with a couple newcomers!
Beautycounter for Target
Target is launching Beautycounter for Target, a limited-edition collection featuring a curated assortment of Gregg Renfrew’s line, created in 2013, including special sizes, exclusive sets and an entirely new item, Nourishing Oil. The price range is from $12 to $39, and launches the week of September 12.
Cute makeup bags ($12).
The focus is on the skincare, but there will be cosmetics, as you can see, too.
I’m most excited to try Nourising Cream Cleanser ($24), Cleansing Balm ($30) and Nourishing Oil ($30).
There’s a bunch of goodies coming our way this fall from Sonia Kashuk! The brand has been a part of the Target family since 1999, and is known for cult-favorite brush sets and cosmetics bags, as well as performance-based makeup. Sonia Kashuk’s fall 2016 limited-edition collection, core line additions and cosmetics bags will be available August 21, and the price range is from $4.79 to $39.99. Check out some of the goodies!
My favorite of all the launches – the Six Pan Eye Palette in Gems & Jewels ($14.29). Man, I wish I didn’t have to wait until August! Isn’t it stunning?!
New core line additions Instant Smoke Sticks ($9.99) and Eye Shadow Quad in STone ($13.69).
New core addition Soft Focus Satin Matte Foundation ($12.99) will launch with six colors – Bisque, Vanilla, Cream, Buff, Bamboo and Camel.
Nail Colour in Rich Girl, Forbidden Fruit, Little Lies, Scarlet Starlet and Wicked Attraction are all beautiful, vampy fall hues ($4.79).
Beautiful new print for cosmetic bags, and a five-piece brush set ($19.99)
A limited edition Exotic Artisan 12-piece wooden-handled brush set ($39.99) flanked by more new cosmetic bag designs. At the event, they told me that the brushes and prints were inspired by Sonia Kashuk’s trip to India.
Earth Six-Piece Brush Set ($22.99) and that beautiful green Compleletly Organized Bag ($14.99) – to die for!
PIXI Beauty by Petra
Pixi Beauty by Petra has become a favorite cosmetic brand. I swear by H20 SkinTint for summer as my foundation, and I love Glow Tonic after I cleanse my face. Makeup Artist and brand founder Petra Strand told me the theme of her fall launches is based on convenience. And I’m totally on board with that.
Everything new in Pixi launches June 26, and the price range is from $10 to $22.
First up is Multibalm ($12). This is a new product for the brand and you can use this to add color to your cheeks and lips, and there’s a darker one to contour with. I’ll have a review of these soon, I’m excited to try them out!
This is the brush on Pixi’s new Lower Lash Mascara ($11). I started using a lower lash mascara and now I can’t go back. This product couldn’t launch at a better time!
The creamy shimmery swatch and the one above it are two new Endless Silky Eye Pen in Graphic Greige (top) and Opal Overcoat ($12).
Two new shades of LipLift Max will launch – Sheer Rose and Honey Sheen ($14).
This is the Best of Bright Kit ($22) and it has a travel size of Glow Tonic, Glow Mud Mask and Glow Mud Cleanser. This is one to purchase and tuck away for the holidays!
Glow Tonic is getting the to-go treatment. It’s going to be available in Exfoliating Toner Pads (60 count for $18).
Also launching is Lash Nourish Makeup Remover Pads ($10).
Oh, and I met Petra. What a pleasant, beautiful woman. She was so down-to-Earth!
defy & INSPIRE
defy & INSPIRE is Target’s exclusive brand of 5-free nail polish. New shades launched May 15 and these retail for $7.49. I have used two of these polishes since the event and I’ve been impressed with the wear I get. New colors are called Carnival Daisy, Main Stage, Rave Red-y, Electro-chic, Ultra Teal and Plur-ple.
Other launches and observations
Fig + Yarrow will launch July 17, an artisan line of handcrafted, organic health and vanity products. Ingredients in Fig + Yarrow products are cultivated from flowers, leaves, minerals and oils based on nutrients. The price range of the line will vary from $19.99 to $22.99. Included is a Foaming Cleanser ($19.99) and a Clay Mask – Rose and French Green ($22.99).
Something that caught my eye at the preview was You Are Amazing body care. You Are Amazing, Marlowe and Mayfair are three brands that launched at Target in January as part of Project Underground. The brand did research on what their customers – or guests, as Target says – wanted. These three brands hit the mark. The You Are Amazing Coconut Water smells amazing:
I was also drawn in to look at the Plant body washes on display.
With catchy names like Get Happy and Calm Down, this would be a fun and nice-smelling addition to my bathroom.
Thanks for sticking with me on this preview post guys!
So tell me, what are you most excited to see at Target over the coming months?! That Gems & Jewels palette is top on my list, I’ll tell you!
