If I had to choose, I’d have to say that doing nail art for Halloween and Christmas is my favorite!
I’ve only managed to eek out two Halloween manis, but I tried out KBShimmer’s Halloween water slide decals in the process! I also went through some of my untried nail polishes!
I’ve got both manis to share today, but I also wanted to share my Halloween costume. I’m a crazy cat lady this year, lol!
We went to a party on Saturday night, which was a blast! Mike and I did the “couple’s costume” thing and he went as an Animal Control Officer … complete with a mullet and a “net” with a cat in it. On the actual holiday, we will put Lorelei in this:
And she will be one of the cats this crazy cat lady has attached to her (I’m going to baby wear her!).
Anyway! This first nail art is my favorite. Check this out:
- OPI My Gondola or Yours? (All fingers except ring fingers)
- ILNP Kaleidoscope (over the OPI on my middle finger)
- Icing Glimmer (on ring finger)
- KBShimmer water slide decals in Trick or Treat (N524) (on ring finger)
I’m holding a spider web pen.
I wore this mani for five days! Look at it on the fifth day…not too shabby.
That nail with the decal held up so well. Lots of tip wear from typing. Here’s a close-up of the nail decal. Cats, of course.
Then there’s mani #2!
For this one I used:
- KBShimmer Be Scareful, three coats, on my thumb, index and pinky fingers.
- Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Silence on my middle and ring fingers
- KBShimmer Haunted House with Owl Water Slide Decal (N506) on my middle and ring fingers.
The next day, I added a second coat of top coat to the decal nails, because they looked a little flat from the polish underneath.
I love using the decals, they are easy. I had trouble with the ones I’m currently wearing (the Haunted House set), because I tried to do nail art before bed, exhausted after getting the baby to sleep. Usually I just slap polish on in 15 minutes during these types of nights. This took me a bit longer.
Have you done any nail art for Halloween? I hope I get to do another mani before Saturday! I want to do something with blood splatter!
The water slide decals, by the way, are $2.95 a set on KBShimmer’s website here. Have you tried them yet?
