I popped into my local Harmon Face Values – we finally got one near me in Deptford, N.J. – and was excited to see two displays of Jesse’s Girl Cosmetics.

One held the brand’s amazing Liquid Eyeliner in black, and the other held the Back Stage Collection 10-pan eye shadow palettes.

Cross your fingers that the brand’s trial run with Face Values goes well, because that means wider availability!

So back to these palettes. We all know that nude and smoky is the strobing of eye makeup, so I was more than happy to take these palettes for a test drive!

The palette with more gray shadows is called Sounds of the City (on the right in the pic at top), and the collection that is more nudes and browns is called Natural Nudes (on left in pic at top).

Here are back-of-hand swatches of Natural Nudes (the first two horizontal swatches at the bottom are really drowned in my skin tone). Swatched over Smashbox shadow primer:

I used each palette once so far, and I was happy with the pigmentation, blend-ability and wear of each one!

Here’s a look I created with Sounds of the City:

Of the two, Sounds of the City is my favorite. But both are going to be perfect palettes for fall! And the best part? They’re only $6.99 a palette. Compared with the retail of other nude and smoky palettes out right now – this is a great drugstore way of getting your new trend fix.

My friend Niki over at the blog Hello Miss Niki has the full list of 50 Harmon Face Values locations that are carrying the limited Jesse’s Girl products – check out her post here to find one near you and go pick up these palettes!
