Kat von d beauty shade & light eye palette brush tattoo liner trooper ink liner neruda swatches review look on BeautyJudy

As soon as I had time to experiment with eye makeup this past weekend, I reached for these four Kat Von D products in my untrieds:

Here’s a few quick product shots. Trooper:

Neruda:

In May, I watched Erik Soto, Global Makeup Artist for Kat Von D Beauty, create an eye look with these products during a seminar at The Makeup Show NYC. Ever since, I’d been wanting to try a look using the white eyeliner like Soto did. Check it out:

The model is also wearing Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Armageddon – neutral eyes with a pop of color on the lips is still on trend!

Here’s what I put together. I used Neruda slightly different than Soto did:

What I used for this look:

Eyes:

  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette (shades use were: Ludwin all over lid; Succubus in outer corner of lid; Saleos in crease blended in; Samael in inner corner of lid blended out onto lid; Latinus to brow to highlight)
  • Ink Liner in Neruda
  • Tattoo Liner in Trooper
  • Shade + Light Contour Eye Brush
  • Lancome Hypnose Drama Instant Full Body Mascara
  • Lush Feeling Younger Skin Tint under eyes
  • Serenity + Scott Eyebrow Gel

Face:

  • IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream (Fair)
  • IT Cosmetics CC + Radiance Palette (matte bronzer and blush, and color-correcting brightening powder)

Lips:

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Blush (new for fall)

I would definitely purchase more shades from the liner range, and I’ve always loved, overall, the eye shadow palettes and singles from Kat Von D Beauty. The brush worked well, especially in the crease.

In case you’re curious, here are swatches of each shade in the palette:

So – have you picked up any of these items, tried the liners, palette or brush? The palette is a must-have makeup item for me from 2015!
