I was a bit scared to try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics‘ Creme Colour Concentrate in Grandma.

I’ve tried the Creme Colour Concentrates in the past, and I had zero luck getting them to stay on my lid without creasing (stupid hooded lids!), although they made for a great lippie! I hadn’t tried one on my cheeks yet, though, and that’s how I decided to test drive Grandma (oh, wait, that sounds pretty horrible, hahaha). Also important to note – Grandma is not approved for use around the eye so this is strictly a cheek/lip multi-tasker.

OCC describes the Creme Colour Concentrate as a blendable, smooth, buildable cream coverage product. Ingredients include emollients and humectants including aloe leaf extract, cocoa extract and vitamin E. These dry to a demi-matte finish. I really tend to think of them as a tool for makeup artists.

Grandma is a brilliant coral hue, and it is strongly pigmented. As promised, it’s creamy.

After I saw my swatch, I was scared to add it to my cheeks! I’m very fair, and I wasn’t sure I could blend it out.

But it DID work for me. I applied it with a brush after applying my liquid foundation.

OMG it is so pigmented! I applied it with the brush and then used my fingers to blend the color, but it was still so vibrant. I decided to go over my cheeks again with a touch more liquid foundation and that worked fantastic!

The vibrant pigmentation settled to a nice coral glow, with a bit of a dewy look.

This is perfect for summer, and it’s a multi-tasker, which I’m pretty into these days. But like I said, I think of these as a professional tool – I’ve seen amazing artistry happen at trade shows with these Colour Concentrates!

Creme Colour Concentrate comes in 17 shades and retails for $23 on the OCC site here. It held up pretty well all day long.

Have you ever tried Creme Colour Concentrate? What do you think?!
