Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss recently launched in a color and texture range that goes from sheer to opaque, from neutral to bold and pearly to nonpearly finishes.

Make Up For Ever says that the glosses contain “Plexi Color Technology to deliver up to five hours of color impact while 360-degree, reflective shine beads maximize shine. The exclusive, artist-designed superflex applicator features a lip-hugging shape that allows for precision and control, and the super-loaded split-tip has a unique contour to sweep on the ideal amount of lip gloss,” according to the brand website.

You can see in the above photo that the applicator has a cut dent in the side. A good amount of gloss, good for one coat on my lips, gathers on the applicator in the middle near that dent.

These don’t really smell like anything sweet or floral, in fact, they smell odd; like maybe plastic? The scent doesn’t linger.

And here’s how 102P, described as a pearly sweet beige, looks on my lips:

I’m a big fan of the color, because it goes so well with bolder eye looks and is sheer and very nude. This type of beige nude gloss is a staple in my collection, and I’m definitely keeping this gloss.

The wear time was pretty good for a gloss, a few hours with fading of the glossiness feeling. I did feel the need to reapply. Some of the color settled into the lines of my lips but I don’t think that would be noticeable with more opaque colors and it certainly wasn’t very visible outside of my up close shot of my lips!

Plexi-Gloss hugs my lips in a way that is not tacky or tight, but doesn’t feel slippery, either.

There are 35 shades available on Sephora.com and on Make Up For Ever’s site here. They retail for $19, and you get .23 fl oz. of gloss.

Have you tried Plexi-Gloss yet? Plan to? I’d like to try one of the more opaque shades, like 500 (lilac).
