KBShimmer‘s MASSIVE summer 2015 collection is launching this Friday! Who’s excited?!
I broke down my swatches into three parts – the ultra chrome and metallic flakies, the neon cremes and holo toppers, and the glitters. The next three days it’s all KBShimmer, all day long here on BeautyJudy in celebration of the launch!
I had to start off these three days with the chrome and metallic flakies, because I’m so in love!
I took my photos in a variety of lighting and sometimes, a variety of nail lengths as I both wore and swatched these, choosing to use sometime my “Cinderella” hand because the nails are longer and I thought it might give a different perspective on what these types of polishes would look like on different nail lengths! As far as the lighting, I found that sometimes, the ultra chrome flakies were more amazing outside of the direct sunlight than in it.
Let’s get started!
Foiled is a stunning, silver micro-flakie that’s got a hint of gold to it. I swatched it here in two coats. Great formula, easy to apply and a stunner in the sun and the shade!
R-E-F-L-E-C-T is a medium-sized silver flake polish. I decided to show what it would look like with various coats. You can see there’s really no difference between three and four coats, and two coats gets you opaque just fine! One coat makes this a pretty topper. Christy, owner of KBShimmer, said this is her favorite for using with nail vinyls and accent nails.
That’s Ore Like It!:
That’s Ore Like It! is a large-sized silver flake polish, and again, I’ve shown this with various coats. I love that this looks like crumpled aluminum foil in just two coats. This is another one that is great for nail art.
I’m not sure why, but I am very much in love with the four silver flakies!
Take The Punny And Run:
Take the Punny and Run is a color-shifting shade that goes from fuchsia to lime green with shades of gold and copper. I wore this for a couple days, and when I applied it, it was opaque in two coats. The shift was beautiful. This is one of those polishes you have trouble NOT looking at when it’s on your hands!
Pros and Bronze:
Pros And Bronze is a gold-toned flake that shifts to warm bronze and orange with hints of green at extreme angles. This one swatched beautifully in two coats, too. I love seeing these flakies on my longer nails, they are so stunning.
Green Weaver is a shifter, from a rosy pink, to green, with hints of purple at extreme angles. You can see the purple in the sun better! I wore this one in two coats. I love how slightly different it looks in the sun and natural light.
She’s Beyond Kelp:
She’s Beyond Kelp is one of my favorites. She shifts from lime green to blue, but also grass green and aqua at different angles. It’s so complex with such complementary shades! This is another two-coater, easy like Pros and Bronze to apply.
Look on the Nightside:
Look On The Nightside is a shifts from a green, to a violet purple, with hints of royal blue. This color combo is one of my favorites, it’s so bright and vibrant. I wore it in two coats. You can really see all the colors in both photos!
Moody Hues shifts in rich jewels tones – purple and blue – with subtle hints of copper at extreme angles. This one was my least favorite, only because the shift wasn’t as much of a pay off as the others. I swatched it in two coats.
I was pleased that all of these remove easily with non-acetone nail polish remover (I favor Zoya Remove +).
These launch FRIDAY on the KBShimmer website! What do you think – are any of these pretties on your list?!
