pixi beauty liplift max petal ice swatches and review on beautyjudy

In the very first month of BeautyJudy, back when I didn’t know what the heck I was doing, I did a review – with no pictures, ha! – of about six or seven lip plumpers from brands like Smashbox, Fusion, DuWop and Too Faced.

At the time, O-Plump by Smashbox was my winner.

But as interested as I was six + years ago, I haven’t really worn many lip plumpers since 2009, so I was very intrigued when Pixi by Petra‘s LipLift Max in Petal Ice arrived at my doorstep to try!

LipLift Max is a clear, glossy lip treatment meant to produce volume in the lips while filling out lines. It contains hydrating peptides that are supposed to firm and plump. It also contains aloe vera, jojoba and chamomile. It’s got a sweet minty scent. It’s meant to be worn alone or over your lip color.

First, check out my before and after pictures, then I’ll talk more about whether this delivers!

Pictures don’t lie, right? Clearly, LipLift Max delivers on a slight plump and fills in lines. It also moisturized the dry parts of my lips. This was within minutes of application.

The scent is nice, light and very tolerable. Sometimes the scent is so strong in plumpers your eyes could water.

My lips did not sting as if a million bees were attacking them. There was a subtle cool feeling, it’s actually very refreshing and doesn’t feel painful one iota.

The gloss itself is not tacky, it feels good on my lips. I feel comfortable using this to give my lips moisture, not just a full effect.

The only criticism I have of the product is that the tube looks bigger than the actual product you get. You get .09 oz of product in a sturdy, plastic tube. You can tell by eyeing it that the part of the tube holding the plumper is thinner than the actual size of the square tube.

LipLift Max in Petal Ice is available at Target, but you can also pick it up on the brand website for $14 here.

LipLift Max deserves a place in my everyday makeup bag. Have you tried it? Have you ever used a plumper/interest in using one?
