Every now and then, a brand comes a long and I just immediately feel a connection to it. That’s what happened in 2013, when I first met the makeup artists behind that year’s newcomer brand, Serenity + Scott.
The line is the creation of E. Scott Thompson and Serenity Eyre; Thompson brings his sense of West Coast beauty to Eyre’s East Coast, in order to “help you find your own version of gorgeous,” according to the About Us on the website. I know I’ve talked about the brand in previous review posts (you can see all my previous reviews/coverage/mention of Serenity + Scott here.) but the people behind the brand are so charismatic and personable that I never tire of talking about them, and it enhances what the brand means to me. They are the people I hug when I see them at trade shows. I just adore them. Seriously!
One of my first introductions to Serenity + Scott was actually a lipstick I received in a press bag from Cosmoprof North America Las Vegas a couple years ago! And in 2013, when I attended the first The Makeup Show NYC Pop-up Shop, I got my next lipstick (along with a couple of glosses, which I can review in another post!).
So I figured, might as well post my review (more cleaning out of the drafts folder!), especially since IMATS NYC is coming in April, and Serenity + Scott will have a booth!
Serenity + Scott Lipsticks have antioxidants, vitamin E and other emollients. Both the lipsticks I have are creamy and apply smoothly, wear comfortably and last very well. The two I have are My Favorite and Flirt (shown left to right):
Sorry for some of the blurry pics there!! But My Favorite is a bit of a neutral-leaning pink with golden shimmer to it. I felt inadequate at describing this color – it looks a little mauve to me, too. The golden shimmer in this is so complementary and this is what I would call in my stash a staple.
Not my best hair day…haha…but, that lipstick is poppin’! This a creamy, neutral shade that has a touch of pinky peach to it. Flirt is a great shade to pair with bold eyes and for my corporate day job any day.
I can’t wait to see the brand at IMATS again this year, and see what might be new, and what other lipsticks might be a must-have!
You can purchase Serenity + Scott lipsticks on the brand website for $16 here.
It’s funny; I love the bold lip colors that brands are putting out right now, but sometimes it’s just really nice to get back to quality, stand-by basics that you know will enhance what you’ve already got! That’s how I feel about this brand in general, I think. My next venture, at IMATS, is going to be trying their foundation products.
Have you heard of Serenity + Scott? Do these lipsticks appeal to you?!
