Zoya Ultra Pixie Dust review and swatches 2014 on BeautyJudy Arianna Oswin Noir

While covering Zoya backstage at New York Fashion Week, Rebecca Isa offered me samples of the latest Pixies – the new Ultra PixieDust for fall! At the time, I was sworn to secrecy about the collection, but word is officially out, and orders start shipping today!

So what’s the difference between a straight-up PixieDust, a Magical PixieDust and an Ultra PixieDust?

Ultra PixieDust has hex glitter particles that aren’t in the original Pixies, and the glitter pieces are not holographic, like the Magical Pixies. The idea is to give the texture more of a 3D effect.

Let’s check them out!

Noir:

Noir is my favorite! She’s described as a deep, vampy plum texture. She looks black, and purple, with purply-pink glitters. Noir is quite possibly one of my favorite polishes for fall – if I had a fall wedding to go to, this is what I’d wear! Shown in two coats.

Oswin:

Oswin is a beautiful true red texture. This is my second favorite. I shared her on Instagram, and a follower wondered how it would compare with Zoya Chyna. Here’s a comparison between Oswin and Chyna:

Chyna on the left, Oswin on the right. You can see that Oswin is a touch darker than Chyna, and the additional hex glitter make it slightly different. If you’re looking to save money, and you have Chyna, it’s probably close enough. But if you’re like me…well. You’ll have both, lol!!!

Arianna:

Arianna is a blue-toned red wine texture, shown here in two coats. I like Arianna, but Noir and Oswin are my clear favorites!

Zoya recommends you apply two to three thin coats of polish for full coverage to clean (oil-free) nail surface. Allow product to dry completely for full effect – don’t use a base coat or top coat; top coat can be applied for additional glossy effects. And I always use base coat with no ill effects.

These applied very well and were opaque in two coats. You can get them on the Zoya site for $10 a piece here.

Will you be picking up any of these Ultra PIxieDust polishes?! Which one do you like most?! I’d love to hear what you think!
