Well first, Happy Labor Day to my American friends!
But second…can you believe it’s September already?!
I’m in denial. I haven’t been in a pool, or down the shore, ONCE this entire summer season. I need more weekends, darnit!
Regardless, it’s COMING, and I’ve already put pumpkin-scented hand soap in my bathroom. Resistance is futile.
Anyway. September is also another time of year of which I am very supportive: Teal Toes for Ovarian Cancer Awareness.
I’ve been supporting the cause through the lens of Teal Toes for five years on BeautyJudy, trying to help raise awareness not only of a devastating cancer, but of the idea that we can take advantage of the last few weeks of open-toe shoe season and help bring attention to a devastating disease.
Having done lots of different things each year from informative articles to reader round-ups, this year, I decided what better way to kick off Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month than by showcasing Milani Cosmetics’ Color Statement Nail Polish in the blues and greens – because it includes a beautiful teal?! Let’s get to swatchin’!
Tattle Teal is described a teal blue and I agree. It’s one of my favorites from the new Color Statement line, and a great “statement” for your toes for September! Shown here in two coats – this one applied easily.
Peri-Wink is described as a periwinkle blue. It’s got a very subtle shimmer to it that you can see at in the bottle shot. I love this nail polish, it’s one of my favorites from the line, except that it applied a bit thickly and patchy when I swatched it. It’s shown here in two coats. I don’t recall having that issue when I used it in nail art a couple weeks ago.
Water Front is described as a true blue; it’s a pretty pool blue to me. Shown in two coats, it was opaque and easy to work with! One of my favorites!!
Mint Crush is a pretty mint green. I love this one too. Two coats, opaque.
Blue Print is a bright yet deep blue. I expected this one to wreak from ultramarine pigment but it didn’t! Shown here in two coats, opaque, another favorite!
Ink Spot is a dark, vampy navy blue. At first, I thought this was black! This one is opaque in one coat but I add a second for good measure. I’ll have nail art on the blog Wednesday using this one as a base!
Overall, I love all of these shades. I would have bought every one of these, so there’s not a bad one in the bunch to me. Ink Spot was the best at application and outside of that I can’t pick a favorite. The only one that gave me a little trouble was Peri-Wink, but it is still worth it to me.
Color Statement is popping up in stores and is online on the Milani website and these pretties retail for $3.99.
I’ve also got swatches of the reds and oranges, and some nail art with the Milani Color Statement Nail Lacquers. Here’s a round-up of my Milani Color Statement coverage:
So what do you think of this set of Milani lacquers? These are by far my favorites, I am such a blue fan!!!
