Milani Color Statement Nail Polish reds review and swatches on BeautyJudy
Milani Cosmetics has given its nail lacquer line an overhaul! They’ve introduced the Color Statement line, with 37 shades in a variety of formulas from glitter to creme.

I mentioned in this post, where I first featured the line in nail art pics, that I would be breaking down my swatches of this new line over time, as well as throwing in some nail art idea posts! So this is my first set of swatches – the reds/oranges! I’ll be sure to start collecting the links at the bottom for each color family and nail art post as I go through these pretties!

Red Label:

Red Label is a pretty true red, that applied easily and was opaque in two coats. I used Red Label in a “Louboutin” mani, I’ll share soon!

Modern Rouge:

Modern Rouge is described as a fuchsia red creme, although it looks a little fiery to me. This is two coats; you can see some VNL. I didn’t think the coverage was inadequate enough for a third coat; despite the VNL it still looked near-opaque to me.

Iconic Red:

Iconic Red is a cherry red, one of my favorites from this set of six. Shown here in two coats!

Mango Tango:

Mango Tango is an orange red creme, perfect in two coats! I love this one.

Ruby Stone:

Ruby Stone is a red shimmer, shown here in two coats.

Crimson Jewel:

Crimson Jewel is a red polish with red glitter; it’s one of those colors that tends to freak out my camera in the sun, so the second, natural light photo is more color accurate! Two coats and this was good to go. I love the glowing quality of it.

By now, I’ve been playing with this line and I’ve experienced about half the polishes. I have to say, Milani did a great job nailing down a good formula, and I’ve been happy with coverage and wear of all of it so far. I’m on day four of wear on a nail art mani using five of these polishes, and it looks fantastic still – I don’t even have tip wear!

I think Milani did a nice job in picking out the reds for its core line, and I especially love that Red Label has the same name as the Milani Color Statement lipstick, Red Label!

This line is starting to pop up in Milani displays where Milani is sold. But if you can’t wait for it to show up in your nearby store, you can always purchase them here through Milani’s site here. These retail for $3.99. Definitely a steal.

Which red do you like?! Have you tried this line yet?!
