KBShimmer is back with a summer collection that’s PACKED with the glitter we know and love from the brand!
“When designing our summer collection, glitter was on our mind,” KBShimmer Owner, Christy Rose, said in a press release. “We were inspired by summer treats, bold colors, and summer flowers. We translated those into 10 glitter-packed polishes and two fun creams.
“We adore glitter top coats. With almost a dozen creams in our collection it was time to bring more glitter pairings to our line. We are adding 4 new glitter top coats that pair well with many of our cream polishes. In addition, we are bringing in two new cream colors, including a near neon peachy orange ideal for pedicures, and a cream inspired by the 2014 Pantone color of the year, Radiant Orchid. We are also bringing in more creally and jelly polishes to round out the summer collection.”
In addition to polish, KBShimmer is branching out into nail art products with six varieties of nail vinyl decal sheets.
“With these nail vinyl decals, it is a breeze for the home user to create wearable nail art that looks professional,” said Rose in the release.
I have five of these, as shown above, and I’ll do a separate post on them, as this post is a bit heavy on swatch pics!
So how about we jump right into those swatches!? I usually do the sunlight and shade photos, but this time I stuck with sunshine only. The shade doesn’t do these justice!
Sea You Around:
Sea You Around is a deep emerald green near-teal jelly that features fuchsia and silver circle glitters, light blue squares and hexes in a base with scattered fuchsia micro slivers and micro sparkle. I used two coats here! I love the depth of this one and the way the glitter looks like its swimming. So beautiful!
Mixed Peelings is a creamy off-white polish with citrus and fruit-colored glitters in neon green, lemon yellow and watermelon pink. Shown here in two coats; second one was thick. This is such a fun polish. I’m really in love with the brand’s white-based glitters – You Autumn Know is another that comes to mind!
Look High and Holo:
Look High and Holo is a raspberry jelly with a rainbow’s worth of holographic glitters in hexes and squares. Shown here in two coats, with one coat Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat, and over one coat of OPI Glitter Off base. I received so many compliments on my mani and I explained where and how to get KBShimmer to someone who wasn’t in the know on the indie world. I hope I haven’t created a monster!
Peak My Interest:
Peak My Interest is a melon pink colored polish with triangle glitters in white, pink and dark aqua. Also shown in two coats. This is my first polish with triangle glitter and I LOVE it! They are so much fun!
Mint-al Vaction is a beautiful light aqua seafoam that has two personalities. In low light, is has a beautiful white shimmer, but in the sun or bright light, you can see a holographic rainbow of color. It’s stunning! Shown here in two coats. I love all things light blue and light green, and when you holo them up, I’m smitten!
Periwinkle in Time:
Periwinkle in Time is a periwinkle colored creally polish loaded with holographic glitters in aqua, navy blue, sliver and violet. I used two coats here. I LOVE the base color and coordinating glitters.
Radiant Orchid is the 2014 color of the year, and the ideal shade to transition nails from spring to summer and even fall. This pink-toned purple has fuchsia and mauve undertones. Shown here in two coats, it was a little thick in application but is so well pigmented it was opaque in one coat! Beautiful!
You’re So Shellfish:
You’re So Shellfish is a near neon peachy orange perfect for summer pedicures – and as a base for the upcoming glitters in the collection! I felt like this photo of the 785784356981431 I took trying to get the color right was the most accurate! This formula was a bit thick as well.
Scribble Me This:
Scribble Me This is a graffiti inspired glitter top coat featuring mini stars, triangles, and neon glitters. This totally reminds me of the 80s! Shown in one and a half (I kinda dabbed a little more glitter on) coats. I decided to try it out over Radiant Orchid:
Sweet Wave is a bright pastel candy-inspired glitter top coat with white, mint, periwinkle and watermelon colored glitters. Such a pretty topper. Shown in one, big glitter coat.
Red, White and Blue-tiful:
Red, White and Blue-tiful is a limited edition top coat with mini red, holographic sliver and holographic blue stars. Small red, silver and navy blue glitters along with micro holographic sparkles complete this patriotic polish. Shown here in one, big scoop of glitter coat! Here it is over You’re So Shellfish:
Happily Ever Aster:
Happily Ever Aster is a floral-inspired glitter top coat with purple, lavender, light aqua and white glitters swimming in a sparkling base. I know this isn’t quite the inspiration, but it reminds me of my favorite flower, lilacs! Shown here in one and a half glitter coats! Here it is over Radiant Orchid:
LOVE that color combo!
Finally, I put all the glitter toppers over one nail each of my Mint-al Vacation mani:
Left to right: Happily Ever Aster, Scribble Me This, Sweet Wave and Red, White and Blue-tiful.
This collection, and the nail vinyl decal sheets, will launch on June 20 – that’s this Friday!
The nail vinyl decal sheets will retail for $5 each. Each glitter polish will retail for $8.75 per 15 ml bottle, while the cremes will retail for $7.50 per 15 ml bottle.
You will be able to find these pretties on KBShimmer.com.
My favorites from this collection are Sea You Around, Look High and Holo, Scribble Me This, Sweet Wave, Happily Ever Aster, Periwinkle in Time, Radiant Orchid and Mint-al Vacation. I had a hard time narrowing down what ones are my favorite, to be honest, because I really do enjoy all of these. So what do you think? Are there any here that you MUST have?! Please share in the comments below, I’d love to know!
