KB Shimmer is launching an “early summer” collection, which is exciting to me, for two reasons:
- More holos, cremes and introducing TEXTURES!
- Early summer….THIS MEANS IT’S ALMOST SUMMER!
OK. So here’s an overview of the entire, 12-piece collection, which launches TOMORROW Friday, May 23!!!!!! Who’s excited?! I left the shade descriptions off the six I’ve got swatches of for you:

Swatches, shall we?!
In Bare Form
In Bare Form is a beautiful near-nude holographic nail polish. The holo is subtle in the shade, plays in the low sun light, and is so vibrant with full light! I really love having a neutral shade with this neat effect. It brings new life to what can be a work appropriate nude! I used two coats, and had a very little bit of visible nail line. KB Shimmer recommends you use three coats of polish. Great formula.
Run! It’s the Coppers!
Run! It’s the Coppers! is a stunning metallic copper linear holographic polish. Again, KB Shimmer recommends three coats. I did two, and was pretty happy with the opacity. I love the way the holo looks in the shade. Great formula on this, as well.
Partners in Lime
Partners in Lime is a textured polish with lime, aqua and gold holographic glitters. KB Shimmer, which is introducing texture with this early summer collection, recommends two coats. I listened. The lime hue of this polish is so vibrant! This is one of my favorites for sure!
Too Pop to Handle
Too Pop to Handle is a purple-toned fuchsia color, with violet, magenta and aqua holographic glitters. This is recommended in two coats, and again, I followed directions. It’s beautiful. I need to order the only other texture I don’t have from this collection, because I really like the effect.
Right as Reign
Right as Reign is one of those deep indigo purple polishes that’s hard to capture! I used two coats of this creme here, and the brand recommends two to three coats. I ended up using my phone to get pretty accurate color photos here! I’m obsessed with this bright, bold purple for summer. Formula was easy.
Low and Be Bold
Low and Be Bold is a bright, near ultramarine blue polish. The brand recommends two to three coats, and I used two. I might use a third the next time I put it on my digits. The formula was a little thinner than Right as Reign, it felt more like a jelly creme. This one also had a bit of a “skunky” smell to it as I applied it. I emailed KB Shimmer and they told me: “The odor you are smelling is from ultramarine blue, which is a pigment in the polish itself. It is normal for that type of pigment. Some people are more sensitive to that smell then others.” I didn’t know that, and I’m glad they explained it to me! Regardless of the smell, this is one of my favorites!!!
I mean, let’s be honest, I love all of these polishes. Picking a clear favorite would be tough, and a choice between Partners in Lime and Right as Reign. I love the variety in finish and texture that the early summer collection offers, and the variance in color from coral to lime green and deep, indigo purple.
As I mentioned, these polishes will be on sale starting tomorrow on the KB Shimmer site!
I know other bloggers have posted swatches, too, of these and some of the other pretty polishes in the collection. Do you have a list of lemmings you’re hoping to satisfy tomorrow when these go on sale?! I’d love to hear what ones you’re excited for!
