The product is a spray that has two liquid sections that you shake up, and spray on your hair prior to blow drying.
The top half of the bottle is a clear liquid that has quick-dry agents to help speed blow drying. The bottom half, a pink liquid, contains conditioners, moisturizers and heat- and sun-protecting ingredients.
The brand promise? It will cut down your blow-dry time by HALF!
Here’s a picture of the bottle shaken, which is how you activate the whole formula, by mixing it up prior to use:
It doesn’t take me very long to dry my hair, but I decided to time it and give this a shot anyway!
The first day I blew dry my hair, I timed it using my normal processes (I usually use a leave-in conditioner prior to brushing my hair and drying it). It took me 3 minutes and 23 seconds. I didn’t realize it but it was still a tad damp at the top back of my head, at my roots, which I realized as I drove to work.
The next time I blew dry my hair, I timed it using My Amazing Blow Dry Secret, and it definitely shaved time off my drying – it took 2 minutes and 32 seconds.
Again, my hair doesn’t take very long to dry to begin with, but this DID shave off time, also considering that my hair wasn’t fully dry the first day, it actually shaved off more time than demonstrated.
My hair also felt nice, a bit smoother, and smelled good. The spray has a pretty, light sweet perfume-y scent. Here’s a list of the ingredients, per the brand’s website:
Aqua (Water/Eau), Isohexadecane, Alcohol Denat., Trisiloxane, Fragrance(Parfum), Cetrimonium Chloride, Polyquaternium-11, Panthenol, Glycerin, Dicetyldimonium Chloride, PEG/PPG- 4/12 Dimethicone, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hydrolyzed Corn Starch, Isopropyl Alcohol, PEG/PPG-18/18, Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Hydroxycitronellal, Benzyl Salicylate, Hydroxyisohexyl-3 Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Benzyl Benzoate, Citronellol, Limonene, Alpha Isomethyl Ionone, Sodium Metabisulfite, Glyoxal, Red 33(CI 17200/Aka227), Red 4(CI 14700/Aka504).
I didn’t go crazy spraying a ton of product in my hair. Just enough to make sure my head was covered.
My Amazing Blow Dry Secret Quick Dry Shake ‘n Spray retails for $25 for 6.78 fl oz on the brand’s website here.
This worked for me, even with thinner, quicker drying hair to begin with; I think this would be amazing for people who spend 10 more more minutes blow drying their hair. Think of all that time you could get back, lol!
My Amazing Blow Dry Secret also sells shampoo and conditioner with coconut oil.
I’m holding onto the rest of my little bottle for those days when I really need to rush my morning routine. What do you think of this product? Have you tried My Amazing Blow Dry Secret? Is it something you would love to try?
I’d love to hear how long it takes you to currently dry your hair!
