Milani Eye Tech Perfection Liquid Liner

Disclaimer: Press sample. See bottom.

eyetech
Milani Cosmetics launched a new eyeliner in February, called Eye Tech Perfection Liquid Liner.

Milani says this about the new liner:

  • Ergonomic handle for easy application
  • Full color definition in one stroke
  • Extreme fine-tip point creates three line styles: use the tip for slender, extreme thin lines; hold the pen at a slight angle to create a bolder, thicker line; and hold the pen horizontally and color over the eyelid for coverage like an eye shadow
  • Non-feathering formula
  • Water-resistant
  • Made in Germany.

So how does it stack up against the claims? Pretty well. Check it out!

The felt tip is long, and comes to a fine point, indeed. And it’s definitely ergonomic. Here’s how it sits in my hand:

Eye Tech is similar to NYX Cosmetics The Curve Liner, so I knew going into using it that I like the style of the packaging.

Here’s how it looked on my eyes:

Eye Tech really is very pigmented, and deposits great color on the first stroke. But I am a perfectionist and try to get my lines as even as possible so I do more than one pass on the lines I create.

The applicator is great, it’s not stiff and it does do both thin and thick lines. I didn’t try it across my lid for a shadow look; that’s not my style.

The liner holds up well over the course of a day, too, with no smudging and hours of wear time.

Eye Tech retails for $7.49 and can be purchased at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and Milani’s website.

Have you tried Eye Tech yet? It’s only available in black right now, but I’d love to see this liner in other colors, too, I would purchase this, for sure!

i like the design of this and the pigment it has!

  • Betzy Carmona

I seen a nyx product similar to this and people love it, I love how you did your eyeliner by the way.

    • BeautyJudy

Yep! The Curve Liner. And thanks :)

  • myCosmeticBag

sephora came out with a product like this a couple years ago, but sadly i let it dry out after i lost the cap

    • BeautyJudy

      Bummer!!!

  • robin

I bought this quite sometime ago and while i love the pigment, I find that it skips everytime and I can’t get a smooth line. It is actually now something I use when I have more time to get my make up done in the morning, since I have to fix the skips. I don’t mind the styling. I won’t be doing a repurchase of this though.

    • BeautyJudy

Oh no! That stinks! I didn’t have that, but it’s disappointing that this is a possibility if I were to purchase it.

This looks like it did a great job on you! I saw something similar to this by NYX I think.

    • BeautyJudy

Thank you! Yes, NYX makes the Curve Liner

  • http://www.blushingnoir.com/ Brooke @ Blushing Noir

I haven’t bought because it scared me but now I need to have it! It looks so great!

    • BeautyJudy

LOL It is weird to look at – it almost looks technical!

  • http://www.painted-ladies.com/ Sheila Arkee

I keep walking past this and definitely have to give it a try.

    • BeautyJudy

      It’s neat!

As soon as I saw this, I wondered if it was the same as the NYX one. I haven’t tried either, but I admit, I’m curious if it’s easier to use than regular eyeliners!

    • BeautyJudy

It really is just like the shape of the NYX one. I don’t think it’s easier to use over regular eyeliners; I think it’s just different

  • http://www.phyrra.net/ Phyrra

I like this but it wasn’t waterproof for me.

    • BeautyJudy

      Ah, that stinks!

  • Amber

You got a great line with it! I’m not sure I’d be able to manage the odd shape, but it looks great on you!

    • BeautyJudy

LOL That seems to be a good portion of the comments, and I totally do get that! But thank you :)

  • Anastasia

Love the pigmentation of the liner, but this is too much of a novelty for me. I’m terrible at making straight lines, so I always use gel formulas and angled brushes to line my eyes with.

    • BeautyJudy

I totally understand! It definitely isn’t for everyone!

  • http://www.slashedbeauty.com/ Miranda Mendoza

You know for some reason I just can’t imagine myself liking holding an eyeliner like this! It just doesnt seem like a natural hand shape to me? But I do like how the formula looks!

    • BeautyJudy

LOL It actually doesn’t feel like a natural shape to me. It doesn’t “fit” into my hand in some magical glove way. It actually gives me great control, though, because of the triangular stem, and the bulk I am holding in my hand. I don’t know if I am explaining it right; but as weird as it looks and feels at first, it isn’t bad

  • cindyprimebeauty

This looks like something I’d like to try.

    • BeautyJudy

      It’s really cool, Cindy! :)

  • marciaf

I’ve wondered about this. It doesn’t look comfortable to use but I bet I’d get used to it quickly.

    • BeautyJudy

It’s really not that uncomfortable, but then I have been using the NYX one for a while prior to this one, so I’ve gotten used to it!

  • Kelly R

I’m not sure I would like the handle. But it looks great on you!

    • BeautyJudy

It’s definitely different! But thank you :)

  • http://makeupbykim-porter.com/blog Kim Porter

I love how dark the liner is. I’m not sure how I’d deal with the shape of the handle.

    • BeautyJudy

It definitely is weird at first but I feel like I’m still holding it like a regular eyeliner marker, it’s just got a thicker body. If that makes sense!

  • http://www.honeygirlsworld.com/ Honeygirlk

I have this and need to open it and use it. I am so particular when it comes to liquid liner and I have not been able to wrap my mind around the weird handle… couldn’t with the NYX one either. lol

    • BeautyJudy

I totally understand! It’s just like the NYX one, so if you didn’t like that, you might not like this, if I am being fair!

  • Cosmetic Sanctuary

I’ve been using this and so far I like it!

    • BeautyJudy

      That’s great!

  • http://www.beautybymissl.com/ beautybymissl

This eyeliner definitely has very interesting shape. I haven´t seen it before, but it seems like really convenient to use.

    • BeautyJudy

It is so interesting, the shape!

  • Norah Salazar

I have the NYX one which I love to bits, wonder which one would last longer? :)

    • BeautyJudy

I honestly don’t know. I kept the NYX liner for much longer than I should have, over a year, and it worked great. I haven’t had the Milani one long, so I can’t do a comparison.

  • Aleya Bamdad

Sounds great. I like that it’s so easy to use and is so pigmented.

    • BeautyJudy

      Thanks, Aleya!

  • http://loveforlacquer.com/ loveforlacquer

I have yet to give this a go.. Looks super easy to use!

    • BeautyJudy

Oh, I can’t wait to hear what you think!

  • http://www.mynewestaddiction.com/ Laura

I have been interested in that for a while now

    • BeautyJudy

      It’s worth a shot!

  • erikatheicyone

I am hopeless with liquid liner. I go for it and end up looking like a freak, every time. I stick to pencils and a little gel/creme liner on occasion.

    • BeautyJudy

Aw! I do like that these types of liquid liner are in a pencil-like tip, which I think makes it easier to apply than if it’s a brush liquid liner

      • erikatheicyone

Unfortunately, the spongy tips are no better. I just muck it up. No flies on the product, it is all me. LOL

  • http://www.makeuplifelove.com/ jamie @makeuplifelove

I like that the actual applicator is curved to fit into your hand. And if the saying power is all day without smudging, I need to grab this. i tried one a while back by NYX and wasnt a fan, but lately everything Milani is putting out sounds like GOLD! Great post!!!

    • BeautyJudy

I found that the shape is just like the NYX one, Jamie. I liked the NYX liner, though, and I like this one. I hope I haven’t steered you wrong!

  • http://www.everydaybeautyblog.com/ EBBlogAshley

I love the look of this! Was it hard to use compared to a traditional liquid eyeliner pen?

    • BeautyJudy

It was not! I found that I still held it like a thin eyeliner, or wand, but there was more to hold onto, if that makes sense?!

  • http://www.geniabeme.com/ Eugenia

I need all eye liners every created. I have yet to try one with the different handles though!

    • BeautyJudy

      Eugenia, I totally understand! LOL
