When I saw the promo pics for Cult Nails‘ recent LE collection, Casual Elegance, I was so excited. These colors are purple, but they have so much blue to their tone that I knew I had to have them!
Well, let’s be honest. Cult Nails is one of those brands I collect, so if it wasn’t sent over, I would have pre-ordered it, anyway!
If you pre-ordered the collection, it came with a sample of Nail Vinyls. I haven’t tried those yet, but I look forward to giving them a shot!
And I know that we’ve already moved on to the next Cult Nails collection, “It’s a New Day,” (which I DID pre-order and it has shipped, yay!!), but I still wanted to share my swatches with you! So these are … *ahem* … “casual” swatches, since I know you’ve probably already seen these polishes in action!
Casual Elegance is a beautiful periwinkle purple blue creme. This polish was my favorite from the collection. I really thought it would be Intriguing, but this simple, beautiful creme really captured me. And it complements my mint green purse for spring/summer, how could I not love it?! Two coats for opacity, great formula.
Intriguing is a beautiful blue lilac holo. I paired it here with a Rosie the Riveter Cha Cha Covers water decal. We CAN do it, ladies – we can wear this color all day long! I was disappointed that the holo on my nail never seemed as strong as it did in the bottle, I’m not sure why! Next time I will try to mix it up better! Formula was great on this one, as well, and I wore it with two coats.
Winter’s Light is a beautiful sheer purple jelly base loaded with micro blue-ish purple glitter shimmer. I wish the sun had come out the day I wore this, I had to resort to a flash picture and we all know how crappy they can look with sparkly polishes!! Oh well. I used three coats for opacity in my mani here, since the base is sheerer. The formula was pretty good. I found that in clean-up around my cuticles some of the very small glitter shimmer was left behind, and you can see it in my pics.
I like how Maria at Cult Nails is doing collections this year. I love the three-piece sets, with the nail art supply. I like being able to pre-order and pay less for the polishes. And I really like this collection.
You can still find Winter’s Light and Casual Elegance on the Cult Nails website, retailing for $12 each here.
Did you pick these polishes up? Which one is your favorite?!
