With so many new/revamped lip products coming from Milani Cosmetics for 2014, it seems fitting that the brand would also offer something to help keep lippies from straying into wrinkles and lines.
Enter the Anti-Feathering Lipliner! It’s basically a clear lip primer for your lipstick and lip gloss to prevent not only feathering, but to help extend the wear of lip products, too.
Here’s the ingredients:
I used the Anti-Feathering Lipliner with one of the new Lip Intense Liquid Color liquid lipsticks, Pink Rave. I used it on one half of my upper and lower lip, to compare wear. When I applied it, I was careful to stay within the lines of my lip, just to the edge.
Anti-Feathering Lipliner on the right side of my mouth, without on the left. I can tell the slightest difference in the cleanliness of the line on my upper lip in this photo, but I did not notice any difference in wear. Neither side feathered.
I purposefully used this pencil with one of my Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars. They will sometimes stray and feather on me, and I thought this would help.
Although I neglected to take a proper photo, (I found one!) I used OCC Digitalis Lip Tar. The results were good. I applied the pencil all over my lips, starting with outlining the natural lip line, and filling in the rest. Digitalis did not stray and feather on me, and wore like a typical Lip Tar. I was surprised when colleagues complimented my lip color/look at the end of the work day when we all got together for a meeting.
In my to-date wear-testing (about a week), I haven’t noticed any added longevity to my chosen lippies when I prime my lips with the Anti-Feathering Lipliner. I have noticed a cleaner line of lipstick/gloss/Lip Tar on the outside line of my lip, and haven’t noticed any feathering when I use this lip pencil.
This is one of Milani’s 2014 launches, officially launching this month at CVS, Walgreens and Walmart for $4.49. Not bad, and worth it for the added insurance across my lip lines.
Do you use a clear liner? Does this one pique your interest? I’d love to hear from you!
